I missed yesterday's post for my DMP paperwork so, before I rush off for the day, I've got another question!

If I have any spare money, allowing for saving to make sure no horrible bill comes up and bites me, should I throw that at my debts? And if so, what do I do - do I make a payment off an individual debt, or put the money into the Payplan account to be shared out? I'm just thinking that I have two small debts to clear which I can probably throw some money at in a month or two if that's allowed. Then that leaves more going to PP to fewer creditors so they'll all get a bit more.

Seeing as you are going through a company doing it for you I would stick it into a savings account, then you could build enough up a final settlement or pay someone off who gives you the most trouble.

Its hard to send small amounts to a company as that just shows your budget is over generous so better to stash it away.

    Well that's that - I've been fired!..

Don't take that one lying down.

If they've fired you, without any warning for 'performance issues' then you may have a good case for unfair dismissal.

If they are saying they don't need you any more then you are redundant and (if you've been there long enough) you should get a payout.

You might be able to make a case saying they made you redundant because of your being ill.

And just like creditors, they WILL do things which are not legal if they think they can get away with it.

I know it's another fight but if you have the strength and the will, get in touch with your local CAB and get advice.

Just started with CCCS after leaving Baines & Ernst.

    Hi all

Sent off the forms to CCCS last week and the letters the CCCS gave me to send to creditors with the token payment for April.

However, Halifax have notified me that will start charging intrest on both my old current account and the credit card.

The credit card is the most annoying one as I'm paying £34 per month and they're adding over £100 intrest & charges per month.

I've spoken to them and advised that I was with Baines but am moving to the CCCS and that adding this amount of charges and intrest with put me well above what I owed in the first place....

They have advised that this will continue for the next six months until my account is passed onto a debt collection agency!

Any suggestions or is this something I just have to accept???

I never belive anyone has to just take things. Especially if they were not charging interest with Bains & Ernst - do you know for sure if they were or not?

Anyway you can write formal complaints and see how it goes but maybe you want to get the transfer to CCCS under your belt too.

I have never dealt with Halifax but the name crops up a hell of a lot!

Thanks for all of your support guys - that's why I post on here, you are such a lifeline. Obvioulsy none of you know me so I could just be a lazy c*w for all you know, but you are all kind enough to give me the benefit of the doubt :A And I have worked for the last 20 years without getting the sack so I can't be that bad!

Not quite sure what to do really. I have only been there 3 months and tbh I should never have taken the job, but we needed the money, so it's not all their fault but I don't think they are at all used to dealing with these situations. I guess I need to take some advice but as Andy says, it's another battle and I really don't think I have the energy. Does anyone know if they have to give me full pay for my notice period - Im thinking not if I'm still off? I do feel partially responsible as I put myself in the position in the first place and they put faith in me to do the job (and to actually be there) and I'm not, so I may just draw a line and move on - chalk it up to experience and at least I think I am beginning to see what I want (and more to the point what I don't).
