Would really appreciate a letter i could send the snotty ones first and then guess i could make it less severe for the ones that are assisting me at the moment but still informing them of my illness and to correspond only by letter and for me to reply by letter only.

I intend to update my sig in Dec when DMP ends. I don't know why, but it'll make me feel better knowing my exact debt does not include "bad".
Well I still reckon clearing £90k in that time deserves a :T :j
And completely understand about the updating signature thingworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Hi Maz !
Sorry for asking I have a genuine confusion with names so can never put what I have said to a person so apologies for repeating myself (anyone with a cure for this let me know! Its the same in person and I want to work in schools with names - oh whoops!)
Anyway I have done a little digging on the internet and possibly have found something that could help everyone and maybe use as a basis to help you too. Have to add bits to it, see what you think!
Here is a link to an interesting long post about harassment from creditors:

In the middle of all that they had this letter we could possibly use as the bones of your letter but will need editing!
Dear Sirs,
RE: Your Client – Grabbit and Runn Credit Card
I refer to my correspondence of (date) regarding the debt that I owe to your above named client. A copy of this correspondence is enclosed herewith, for ease of reference.
Since making my financial position clear to you, I have been constantly harassed by your operatives, who have attempted to intimidate me into making payments that I simply cannot afford to make, under my present circumstances.
I wish you to know, that I am aware of my rights and that your constant telephone calls are a breach of Section 40 of The Administration of Justice Act 1970 and any further incidents of this nature constitute a course of conduct, which is a criminal offence under Section 2 of The Prevention from Harassment Act 1997.
Please note, that whilst I take my obligation to you seriously, I will not tolerate such abuse and if I receive any further telephone calls from your organisation, I will have no hesitation in reporting the matter to The Office of Fair Trading, whom you may be interested to know, are currently encouraging reports of this nature.
I would be obliged if you would kindly acknowledge receipt of this letter and confirm that there will be no further attempts to contact me by telephone. I am entirely happy to communicate with you in writing and would be obliged if you would give my proposals, serious consideration.
Yours faithfully

This is obviously a letter for if you are getting many calls so needs toning down to request that due to the nature of your health you request that all communications be put in writing in order for you to cope with dealing with your debt with a third party.
But reckon the last couple of paragraphs could be handy - what do you think can you work with it or shall I keep searching?0 -
Another basic letter for more general responses but possibly helpful for other people so posting it here:

Dear Sirs
Harassment by telephone
FORMAL COMPLAINT UNDER THE CONSUMER CREDIT ACT 2006 COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE
Account Number: XXXXXXX
I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.
I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls. (Delete if necessary)
I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only.
I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.
Please treat this also as a formal complaint, and send me a copy of your company complaints procedure.
Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company will be recorded. (**Even if you don‘t yet have recording equipment!!**)
Yours faithfully,

I am wondering next time this thread gets too big that we have to support group 4 do you think under the main members list on page one it would be handy to have some template letters or advice etc?
If so anyone have any ideas? Or things they found the most helpful?
(Just to make it easier if I do it)
What Whoopie said:
There is so much useful information flying around on this thread, thank goodness for it all and thank you to those who provide it. Also, the National Debtline website is a gem so I would recommend everyone to take a look as there is a wealth of information and template letters (that can be tweaked to your requirements).
Isn't it strange how our creditors treat us differently. We have had no problems with Barclaycard but MBNA and Lloyds are being a nightmare. And, it appears that those we owe the less to are making the most noise!0 -
rayday, you are correct - it was porkie pies galore!

Loopy, you will feel out of sorts regarding the job at the moment but think to the future and how much happier you will be not being in a job that was dragging you down. Your health is the most important thing to deal with, so get that on track and you will be able to deal with everything else.*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0 -
I think it would be a good idea to have template letters etc at the beginning, then people can be referred to those if they need them.*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0
