    Hi Whoopie

I'm ignoring anything that looks like it is computer generated - as NW says different depts can't communicate with each other - v frustrating i know! I had letter from Lloyds CC this morning just chasing up payment - i know that they have rejected my dmp to CCCS but I've heard nothing from them at all in that respect

Rayday - you are a baby:D How did you get so knowledgable at such a tender age?

I should be debt free by about 43 with any luck - DH is a couple years younger than me and DS is 16 in December. So we are really looking forward to being young (ish!) child free and loaded!!

newlywed, thank you. I know where I would like to stick the letters and it's not their intray!

    :D

Ge wrote to me saying they had heard from CCCS and accepted the DMP and would stop interest and charges, and then two days later another department wrote to say they hadn't heard from CCCS, wouldn't accept less than minimum payment and that my account had been used too recently to accept any reduction

    Numpties ;)

Don't say that - even if you have, you're clearly excellent at sorting it too!

Thats with all the practice I get lol!

I probably learn by my mistakes a bit slower than the average person but have you lot to bail me out.

Take this morning I went on the Aerosmith american website to get hubby something for fathers day - MSE side saying the pound is good against the dollar it will be half price - the devil saying ooo buy twice as much!

I need a good slapping sometimes!
  • It's not a computer generated letter and it is hand-signed by the business advisor or somebody of that ilk. How I wish I could shred it! Anyway, I'll try to put it out of my mind for now.

Loopy, if the job is really, really not for you then you do need to rethink what you would like to do. I don't think the situation is helping you at all so let us know what you decide to do.

rayday, Aerosmith are one of my all time favourite bands. We went to see them at Hyde Park last year and they were incredible.

newlywed, numpties is the word! ;)

Hubby saw Aerosmith before he met me Twin Towers ball or something in London - he wanted to see them in Hyde Park but there was a conflict of interests Bon Jovi were doing their one and only gig that week and then the real conflict of interest we were on holiday lol!

File the letter away for now and see what develops - sounds harsh but it is what I am doing with Lloyds - they said no they won't accept the doubling of payments (not that I am bitter!) but I am sitting quiet to see what happens when I get a statement could be one department not speaking.
  • Having a nice day off from delivering everybodys bills and junk mail by spending it in my garden with a few beers.
Only had one phone call this morning(a record)so seems like my creditors are finally settling down at last.:j

I nearly killed myself in the garden yesterday decided to cut the lawn, hell I never realised our garden was so big hubby normally does it. I gave in at strimming the edges - he come in and said basically if you are not going to do the job properly leave it to him.

Great I smiled - thats my get out of jail free I must never touch the gardening again :D

  • Hi Everyone, hope you are all enjoying the sun today - makes a nice change doesnt it.

Well, me and OH are still teetering on the brink of "should we/shouldn't we" go down the road of a DMP with CCCS and whilst we were talking about it last night a thought occurred to me.

I have a credit union account currently with a small loan which is technically a debt isnt it. I'm hesitant to include the credit union in the list of creditors though because I have savings (which are called "shares") and you can borrow based on the number of shares that you have (for those of you who dont use credit unions!). I quite like the fact that I have those savings (although small) and knowing that in desperate times I can get a small loan to help us through. If I couldnt repay the loan (eg, if they joined the other CCCS creditors queue) then the credit union take your shares/savings off the debt that you owe and then perhaps there is a small balance left to be repaid. I would feel really bad putting the credit union in a position where they would join the queue with the other creditors when they have actually been very helpful to me. Does that make any sense to anyone?!

If I didnt put their details in then I would get into trouble wouldnt I? I suppose, when I think about it, I like the thought that there is a little safety net of being able to "borrow" through the credit union but then I guess to be on a DMP you just have to throw everything into it and see what happens.

I wish I could find a way of dealing with things overall that can help us get off the cold hard floor that we've hit but I just dont know which way to turn.

If we went down the route of CCCS initially, can we at a later date (hopefully when things improve) come off the plan and just start repaying people? That would at least give us some breathing space for the moment. Or, would you, rather than come off the CCCS plan, just increase your payments through them as much as you can to clear the debts much quicker? The thought of 6 years and 1 month (our estimated DF date by CCCS) of feeling like we cant "live" scares me.

Sorry ... I've rambled. I just really dont know what to do but I know that we have got to get a grip on these miserable finances once and for all.

    Thanks

    Sx
