  • YM - we should be able to increase our payments by around £30 this year (as long as the bills don't increase anymore) so well done.

Our ages at DF will be 50 (OH) and "cough" 48 for me! Mind you, the official DFD (which I don't use) would put us in our 80s!

I've told OH we must not wish our lives away which is difficult sometimes, but the wrong thing to do. Life passes by quick enough as it is.

rayday, you are a baby then? ;)

newlywed, when we are debt free we have a bottle of malt that is several years old (and even older by then) that we will crack open, get very drunk and plan a touring holiday to the States. All paid for by our own money! This is what we are really looking forward to, financing everything with good old fashioned cash.

Oh, here is the postman. Just off to see what delights he has for me today.

I reckon it will only take me two or three months of my current DMP payment amounts to save and pay outright for a 2 week self-catering holiday for the four of us in Greece somewhere. Then a couple of months for lots of spending money.

  • Why oh why oh why do creditors insist they have received nothing from us when they have had payments and Payplan have reassured us 100% that they have contacted them? Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Had a letter from NastyWest stating the above, i.e, no correspondence whatsoever from Payplan and because of this they will not freeze interest or charges (as they don't offer interest free loans!)

I just cannot understand why they are denying any correspondence from Payplan? Is this a game?

Off to bang my head on something very hard!

You could ask Payplan to send the stuff to you (or copies) to send recorded delivery to Natwest (or by hand) and in your letter put you said you could only stop interest if you received your letters well now you have I expect interest stopped!

Oh brilliant! :rotfl: Can I use it please. They are my main creditor.

    Morning all

Feeling pretty good today considering - sun is out, having a good hair day - lol!- and had a letter from GE Money accepting DMP.(tho also one from HSBC saying they won't - they "will accept" £50 p/m which is the minimum payment anyway!) Oh yeah, and I'm not at work  . AND just had lovely homemade date crumble slice and coffee! Me and OH did loads of baking over w/e actually - leek and blue cheese quiche, fruit scones, cheese scones, date slices and choc chip muffins. Oh and we were having curry sat nite (homemade not take out) and didn't have any onion bahjis, then I remembered we had loads of onions, so we made some and they were scrummy! Also made pies for Sunday lunch. Only problem with all this baking is that someone has to eat it and guess who's home all day?:D

Also didn't spend a single penny all weekend (probably cos I never left the house - lol!) Did spend £25 in Tesco yesterday tho :(

On the work front, I received a fairly shi**y email yesterday, saying that they were disappointed I hadn't called them Monday to say whether or I would be in, and hadn't prodcued a sick note. I told them on Friday that i wasn't expecting to be in on Monday and I only got my new sick note yesterday! They also went on to say that they had "issues concerning my performance and would I attend a disciplinary meeting on Wednesday?!"

However, it seemed that that email crossed with mine updating them and I then had another one saying, "oh that's ok then - we don't need to have a meeting". Weird i thought - concerns over my performance have nothing to do with me being off sick and vice versa, so i wonder if they made that up just cos they are hacked off that I'm not there.

Anyway, I've decided that I'm going to resign as never want to go back to that type of job (that is becoming crystal clear the more the ad's kick in). Although that makes me think that if i don't need to rely on a reference perhaps I should just wait for them to sack me? But they might not and can't live on SSP for too long and obviously can't start a new job whilst off sick, so i'm thinkg the sooner i draw a line under it the better.

Not really sure what I will do, but probably just temp or something for a while. As we have a little bit of savings, and OH is getting a bonus this month, we can stretch that out over the coming months to ensure we don't have to reduce DMP. I could also think about selling my car - it's only worth about £1,750 but that would also help out significantly over coming months. I only bought it in January cos I needed it for the new job, and prior to that we managed perfectly ok with just one car - DH often trains it to London so doesn't need it. If i temp it will more than likely be in town which is 15 min walk away.

So all in all feeling pretty positive and dare I say happy? (apart from NR but trying to ignore them!)
  • rayday, thank you. Unfortunately DMP is in OH's name so I have to wait for him to get home to sort it out. As I said, Payplan said NastyWest have received correspondence etc from them as they have their computer system linked up and Payplan said last week that NW are just trying it on. However, I do feel we need to know exactly what Payplan have sent etc. This is when I start to think I would rather be doing this myself. I'll take the advice regarding the interest etc once I know what is happening.

Marru help yourself :) I did add a few expletives too! "££$%$W$VA !!!!"%$^&**

from my experience with GE money - it's not a game - it's just that one department doesn't talk to the other and their computer systems (or maybe the users) aren't sophisticated enough to link the records together from the 2 departments :p

Stick with it - someone will find the letter in their intray eventually ;)

  • newlywed, thank you. I know where I would like to stick the letters and it's not their intray!

Loopy, the cooking sounds lovely and my tum is rumbling now!
