Not sad at all newlywed.
Nice to have a debt paid off though. I still have a long way to go yet and cant really afford to up it by much but anything will help. Looking at about an extra £20-£30 per month hopefully.
I update my spreadsheets every time a payment comes off. Nice to see it decrease.
Take care

I've got 51.54 payments left
But I have paid off over £7k in the first year of the DMP - just can't wait till it gets to under £30kthen I'll feel like I'm getting somewhere.
At least my debt to salary % is now down to 136% instead of well over 150%
I also use it to work out how many extra months I'd have to be on the DMP if I reduced payments. It's stupid little figures like that that have kept me on track so far....working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Hoping to get my % debt v salary down to under 90% soon as we have just been awarded a 3.5% pay rise at work. That should pay for the increase in Milk, butter and everything else that has shot up not to mention petrol

A payrise? What's one of them??? :rotfl:
Been no payrise or bonus payments for the last 2 years for anyone here - unfortunately - as now with the DMP I couldn't half use one or the other to have a couple of days away - can't even afford extra petrol money to get anywhere at the moment!!!!
And the car tax and MOT are both due at the end of this month - and only have car tax money so and wetting myself worrying about the MOT as the car is 12 years old, even tho we've only had it a year and did every advisory when we got it - still worriedworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
I tell you what it is getting very hard in the UK at the moment. Everything seems to cost more and nothing seems to be reducing in price.
I did hear they were on about bringing back deposits on pop bottles. I can still remember collecting bottles many moons ago for pocket money. Hope they bring it in then I can do that as well as my clicks :rotfl::rotfl:.

Actually thinking about it, I'm finding that one of the hardest things at the moment. I always used to jump in the car and go out for a day - just to a town to walk about and eat lunch out, or to a national trust place for the day, or to visit relatives 200 miles away for a weekend. And I don't have the money to be spontaneous, or if I did that, we'd have no petrol money for work later in the month.
It's not been too bad through winter but every weekend stuck at home has been doing my head in. Just feel I need to get OUT somewhere, anywhere. But every 10 miles of petrol used is a day's worth of petrol to work and back - it's so flipping sad, it's hilarious!
The having lost 2 stone in the last year and needing new clothes I just view as an ebay/charity shop challenge and a bit of an irritation.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Oh I heard a report that apparently furniture is reducing in price as well as Xbox type computers and ipods - as if that evens it all up
We used to collect the lucozade bottles dad used to drink and mum would let us have the money if we lugged them back to the shop - can see me collecting rubbish in the park womble style if they bring that one back in :rotfl:working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Hi Everyone :hello:
Just a quick visit.
Good Luck with the reveiw YM I had my review yesterday and it was fine, really easy. I upped my payments by £14 a month and it knocked 6 months off my DFD, so every little helps!
Newlywed - Well done on paying off the small debt, it all means you are a little step closer to being free. I have 96 payments left but at least my debt is going down and with a bit of luck I will be below 20k by the end of the year, still a massive a mount but almost less than half my age now!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Take Care
