Pork and chicken should be properly defrosted. If it were lamb or beef and a bit hard you could cook it.0

i reckon it would be fine straight in the pan as long as you cook it throughly, its only like cookin a ready meal from frozen in the microwave***** on the road to debt freedom *****

Just wondering if i was to make up some spone/brownie or simular mixture if i could cook half and freeze half to use next time?
Also, should i freeze it in the shapes i want it in or should i freeze in a lump and remold once defrosted?
thanks,

stand the pot in some hot water to loosen it then bung in the pan and heat throughly. we do this with most frozen cooked meals.0

If you are using self raising flour or baking powder as the raising agent, once it gets moist it starts working.
So, no, you can't freeze sponge cake mixture before cooking.
But you could mix it as far as adding the eggs / milk.
No need to freeze this stage - just fridge.0 -
I've never tried it before, though I can't really imagine it working?
When the raising agents in the cake are activated they get to work straight away and the cake needs to be baked immediately, else once it goes in the oven it'll have no 'energy' (if you like) to make the cake rise.
You can bake two lots at a time and freeze what you can't eat (I sent brownies, via royal mail, to OH that had been frozen
) and they come out still tasty, and you can heat them up in the micro for a few secs, or the oven for that fresh baked 'taste' - god I sound like an advert
Plus you have the added bonus of only paying to heat the oven once. You can, however, freeze cookie dough - roll it into a sausage shape and freeze in foil then defrost slightly, cut into slices and bake

I agree with the above posters - I wouldn't freeze cake mix; I'd make fresh every time

A few weeks back i was very proud of myself by making double the quantity of pork curry and then freezing the 2nd half. Were now having the 2nd half for dinner but not sure it will be defrosted in time.
Will it matter if its ot thoroughly defrosted or will we end up ill if its still half frozen?
Any advise would be great

Re the pork curry - you could finish defrosting in the microwave?
You won't end up ill if it's reheated thoroughly and is piping hot before you serve it.
Hope you had it tonight and that it was tasty?!0 -
