Do you mean you cook too much or you buy too much and it's left over but raw?

just prepare and chop it - as if you were going to use it - then freeze it in small portions, just chuck it into whatever you are cooking when you need it. i do this with cheap offer or reduced veg!

I always end up buying too much :o so it's raw but doesn't seem to keep very long so wondered if freezing was an option.

    Hi crazyhazy,

Carrots freeze well either cooked or uncooked. I've only ever frozen cooked celery but as sillyvixen says it's ok to freeze raw then I might try that next time.

    These threads may help:

    Freezing carrots

    oodles of carrots (merged)

    Keeping celery

    What to do with celery

I'll add your thread to the quick questions on freezing thread as your query may help others.

A few weeks back i was very proud of myself by making double the quantity of pork curry and then freezing the 2nd half. Were now having the 2nd half for dinner but not sure it will be defrosted in time.

Will it matter if its ot thoroughly defrosted or will we end up ill if its still half frozen?

    Any advise would be great:confused:

You need to heat it through thoroughly before eating. Check the meat is piping hot before serving.

It doesn't matter if it isn't defrosted right through before you start cooking it.

Hi - personally I wouldn't eat any meat that was not fully defrosted - can you try and defrost it in the microwave?

it seems pretty stuck in the metal containers at the mo but maybe when a little more defrosted i could zap it for a few min.

    Thanks to you both

Why not take it out and heat in in a saucepan on the stove.
