  • hello, I think it will be fine to add the spinach and coriander before freezing, especially if you have them ready. As for the ginger - you could perhaps grate some fresh ginger in near the end, but I would do it in small doses and taste as you go. An alternative would be to gently cook some ginger in a separate pan and then add to the harira.

Mmm sounds delicious I think I will make one this weekend!

I had to pop into town for something else so picked up some ground ginger, the smell coming from the hob is very very hungry making :D
  • The fresh coriander will become bitter when you reheat.

    Hi everyone,

I have lots of ham that needs using up and definately don't want to throw it so thought of making quicke with ham in it, would it freeze ok? And if so, do I then cook it from frozen in the oven? Don't want the pastry to go soggy. I know you can buy quiche frozen from supermarket but I hate them, too sloppy. Thanks for all your expertise.

Hoping you can help with what should be a simple query!

I have got quite a lot of beef mince in the freezer that was all purchased fresh and then frozen on the day of purchase. Can I defrost this, make a large batch of Chilli Con Carne and then freeze it again into suitably sized portions? Or can I only defrost it and cook it as required as it has previously been frozen?

    Thanks!

I always freeze on the day of purchase, then cook batches of chili or boly and then refreeze some of it. It is fine as long as it is always cooked throughouly each time.

I bought some lovely haddock from the whoopsie shelf at Asda's this morning, completly forgetting that I have a HM pizza defrosting for tonight.... We are out tomorrow night, so my question is: can the fish be frozen now even though the date is today?

    Thank you!!!
