I bought some lovely haddock from the whoopsie shelf at Asda's this morning, completly forgetting that I have a HM pizza defrosting for tonight.... We are out tomorrow night, so my question is: can the fish be frozen now even though the date is today?

    Thank you!!!
I would as long as it doesn't say it was previously frozen.

Hoping you can help with what should be a simple query!

I have got quite a lot of beef mince in the freezer that was all purchased fresh and then frozen on the day of purchase. Can I defrost this, make a large batch of Chilli Con Carne and then freeze it again into suitably sized portions? Or can I only defrost it and cook it as required as it has previously been frozen?

    Thanks!

You can ;) I'll add this to the Freezing Quick Questions thread to keep ideas together.

Can't recommend this, I think the majority of outlets use frozen bases / toppings and refreezing is not advised unless you fancy contracting a notifiable disease. I may be wrong but can't see how a profit can be made unless the logistics of pizzamaking are spot on and involve minimal wastage, ie as much frozen / canned / reconstitutable food as possible. Throwing away the odd tomato is one thing, making everything from scratch is a poor way of purchasing food for a fast-food business and I can't believe anyone running a takeaway pizza outlet does this.

Enjoy your pizza piping hot and at its best...

We freeze left over dominos/ delivery pizza all the time and none of us has got ill! Seems like such a waste to throw away the last couple of slices.

We usually put one or two slices in a freezer bag and then when we want to eat it, we defrost in the microwave for a few minutes until soft!

P.s we usually get veggie pizzas if that makes a difference, not sure i'd freeze meaty pizzas.

I'd not freeze it as the toppings have probably been frozen already.

COld pizza is yummy the next day for breakfast.

We usually have a couple of slices left so I just pop them in the fridge to have the next day for breakfast. I love leftover pizza

  • I'd freeze it ;) If you don't want to do that, how about just ordering as much as you can eat, or making your own  There are loads of recipes on here :D

I'll add this to the Freezer Quick Questions thread, to keep suggestions together.
