    Yes. Should be fine. :)

    They need to be defrosted slowly - and re-heated very gently to avoid over cooking.

    thanks for the reply, I was looking at Approved Food and they have them for 40p or 3 for £1 (300g). Thought I'd get some for quick puds.

    Hi there, i was wondering if it is possible to freeze cheese? If so am i best to grate it?

    You don't have to grate it, i just shove the whole block in then take it out when i want it. It might be a bit crumblier.

  • I agree. I tend to freeze it in blocks when on offer, but it is definitely more crumblier.

    I like a mature Cheddar but don't like the price so stock up when I see a good offer and freeze it in the block.

    Just park it outside the fridge to defrost then refridgerate and use as normal.

    :o A surprising amount of sensible and competant people don't know that you can freeze cheese and milk; I was in my forties before the penny dropped......duh!:o

    I freeze it too, grated and as blocks. I buy blocks of more unusual cheeses when they are yellow stickered, then I can always produce an good cheese board if we have guest for dinner, with a big outlay
