I would have thought they freeze yoghurt in a similar way to icecream - with a machine to cool it and stir it to keep it from getting ice crystals. I think milk doesn't have a problem because it defrosts straight to runny. Not sure about yoghurt - best way will be to get a small pot and have a test.0

I've found that some yogurt works OK to freeze and some doesn't. At least, it all works in the sense of preserving the yogurt but some goes grainy and some doesn't - and the graininess seems to remain even if you're using the thawed yogurt in cooking.
I think it might be to do with different types of yogurt - perhaps low fat doesn't work - but I haven't done it enough to really say what works and what doesn't.
However I did have one occasion when I froze 2 small (1/4 pt) pots of yogurt poured out of the 1 large pot (1/4 pt is my most convenient size) and 1 of them went grainy and the other didn't. I think the grainy one was defrosted at room temperature on the kitchen table and the good one was defrosted overnight in the fridge - but I'm not sure...and quite baffled.0 -

Hi,
thanks all for your answers to my question on white wine, I ended up getting a bottle in Tesco for £2.99 and will be using some today and then freezing the rest in portions.
I also bought one of their roasted chickens which was reduced, and I was thinking of stripping the meat off, using some on a pizza and freezing the rest. Is it safe to freeze this meat? I'm guessing it is, but just wanted some reassurance really!
Thanks!0 -
Go for it. Portion up and freeze. Just don't re-freeze anything you make with it.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500
