    Hey Geoff
Did you also add the discounts?
Dual fuel discount of £15 per year.
4.8% electricity discount off quarterly consumption, up to a maximum of £4.75 per quarter.
10.3% gas discount off quarterly consumption, up to a maximum of £15.08 per quarter
It worked out OK for me...also energyhelpline does have the new V3 prices, at least for my area (Norweb)...supposedly saving £84 - that'll do for me...+cashback.
And let's see, if BG put up their prices, then we move again later in the year?

Yes, it does seem to be the discounts making a difference, although my relatively low consumption (14,500 gas, 2,600 elect) means I won't get that much.

I'm not convinced about the BG offer - see post above.

Just checked mine I am on edf V2 online dual fuel. I was on capped price until December 07 and received a letter saying they were extending it until 31st March, due my bill soon so will double check, but buys me a bit of time.

    Thanks for the heads up.
    Cheers

I've just spotted the catch with BG's Click Energy 4 tariff. It didn't increase in January; the tariff pdf on BG's site shows it as from 11 Oct 2007.

So everyone's piling into this tariff believing that BG have recently had their price increase, but it's just a trick! They'll shaft everybody with a massive increase sooner or later.

See post #13 of this thread the figures i obtained were directly from BG web site yesterday!!!

Then you switch again after you have had you £60 from Quidco, simple. I've done it this morning.

I'm going to take a chance and switch to BG for now - with Quidco, of course!

How have you guys cancelled EDF though? It says on the letter it has to be in writing but unless it's me, people seem to be saying they have done it by phone?

Oh boy, that was helpful of him - maybe I'll just write a letter after all then!
  • I did not think you had to tell them, I have never told anyone in the past when I have switched. The new supplier has always arranged it all

That's what I've always done but this time I want to make sure I don't get landed with the new charges if it takes a while to set up. I think so long as I inform them, they will stick to the old charge until my account is closed.

    Or that's what I thought ....

Thats good thinking I am due a bill on 22nd of this month and have had the email today to send the meter readings. I will wait a couple of days before sending the readings, and then phone them and tell at the same time, and hope I still get my Nectar points,
