Just what is the matter with people at the moment? Have just logged in and have read several threads like this. People
receiving sacastic responses by others who are maybe "spending just a bit too much time on here." :T

    Did you mean: sarcastic

I hit a raw nerve with you there, didn't I? I was in a cheeky, mischievous mood in this thread but I sense you are not.Yours seems more of the point scoring variety.
Also not quite sure what you wish to prove here. I have a very thick skin, particularly with regards to the virtual world so won't be justifying why I've been sat here logged in for a fair part of the morning. I am definitely a regular though probably not quite as regular as you.
Incidently my comment on that thread you've just copied wasn't totally directed at you ( but certainly did include you). I was more disgusted with the other two links I had seen moments before at how newbies were being treated.Nor was my comment about too much time directed specifically at you. Logic told me that newbies probably appreciate the repeats whereas the pros such as yourself would be the irritated ones.
    Did you mean: sarcastic
As you know from later in that thread ( going by your response there),I have contempt for sarcasm and found this latest attempt somewhat petty.

I detect your need to have the last word so shall let you.No more banter from me....well towards you anyway.

    A few points worth noting:
    1. The 12-months period starts with the first deposit.
    2. If you introduce multiple ISAs and they are credited in stages, you will receive the lower tier interest rate until the account is topped up to £9K.

I also confirmed with them that I can introduce this year's ISA, which currently attracts 8.1% at A&L, at a later stage.

Although Lloyds TSB's important information states that this year's ISA must be introduced, I just managed to open the account over the phone only introducing previous years' ISAs.

My father went to a LloydsTSB branch today (as a new customer) to transfer an existing HSBC ISA account to Lloyds.

They accepted this with no problem - he has already opened a Maxi ISA for this tax year with someone else..

Would I be completely wasting my time if I tried to setup an ISA over the phone? Taking into consideration I am not a customer at the moment.

Incidentally is it a free phone number?

Yes, as they ask for your current details(eg sort code/account#) to search for you..

Yes, but still I was on the phone for 30 minutes, only to have to get them to post me the transfer forms..Aparrantly they've never heard of National Savings and Investments(or NS&I) and couldn't find it on their list!!! Plus 'computer says no' to another account # being wrong..just checked online, it's correct!!

Good god..Things are just getting worse..

Just had a phone call telling me I need to bring a Birth certificate in to prove ID. I've banked with them for over half my life!!! That might be changing....

Tell me about it. The reason is the banking part and the ISA Centre do not talk to each other. They are completely separate entities.

Except I'm to bring this ID to one of their branches :rotfl:
And they can't be totally seperate as they got my 'details' (address/ employment details/ salary!) from my current account and to 'prove' who i was on the phone had to give specifics about my accounts.

Also, was it just me but I was told no further deposits are allowed with this account so come april I can't add to it unless I tell them at opening time I want to deposit next years 3600..Seems a little cack handed to me!

I was told the same thing when I went into a branch and opened a Fixed Rate ISA - I already have a current account with Lloyds but just could not bear sitting there on the phone.
They could not find NS&I listed under the institutions/banks either. However, NS&I clear through the Bank of England, so thats what the member of staff put it under on my transfer form. *fingers-crossed it works*
