Are you absolutely sure about that? When I rang them about a month ago to find out when the bonus finished (mine was opened in May, but interest backdated to April), I was told that because interest had been backdated the bonus finished on the anniversary of when the interest had been backdated to. I wish they'd make sure their staff give out consistent information. Things are difficult enough without them confusing matters.

Says in terms and conditions that 1% Bonus is for 12 months from account "opening", Barclays account opening confirmations clearly state " account opened date e.g 10th May 2007 " even if interest was backdated to 6th April 2007.

Date interest was backdated to is irrelevant IMO. ( We all have our account "opening" dates )

Perhaps someone will contact Barclays through Barclays site so that a written answer can be gleaned. ;)

    Tax Beater Cash ISA

    Monthly interest (effective from 02/01/08)
    Balance

    Tax-free rate pa%
    AER%
    £1+
    6.56
    6.76
These rates include an introductory bonus of 1% gross. The bonus will be paid for 12 months from the date you "open your account" with a minimum of £1, after which time the rates will reduce accordingly. We may withdraw the bonus offer at any time without notice. Rates are variable. This is a mini cash ISA. Transfers from other ISAs are not permitted

Then again, I might cause offence so sorry if I do. Shall remove shortly if you prefer.

For those that have £9,000 to transfer in or pay in Lloyds are offering 1 year fixed at 6.5% with no withdrawal. Seems a good deal

I'm slightly confused:confused:: when they say £9000, does that mean £3500 into a cash ISA and the remainder into a stocks/shares ISA? One cannot deposit the entire £9000 into a cash ISA or can one:confused:. Thanks all:)

The 9k comes from previous years cash ISAs that have been combined into one.

Although Lloyds TSB's important information states that this year's ISA must be introduced, I just managed to open the account over the phone only introducing previous years' ISAs.

Do you mean that this account can be opened over the phone, and that it is not necessary to visit a branch?

Existing customers can open it over the phone. New ones have to go to a branch.

If you already bank with Lloyds you can, but I'm not sure if you don't. I bank with Lloyds and an have existing Cash ISA with them. I opened a new Fixed Rate account and transferred the existing ISA to the new account, all over the phone.
