roddydogs.
Thanks, I'll take my TOISA info along as well then. I thought I would be able to persuade them;)
BTW, HMRC say TOISAs still exist, at least until the new ISA rules on 6 April:

I'm a Lloyds TSB customer, but popped into my local branch to transfer my ISA, rather than phone. It took about 10 minutes to do, and I was told it'll take upto 35 days to go through.
Very smooth.0 -
Just a warning - I've just been into my local Lloyds branch to ask about exit penalties (on the basis that after the year is up and I revert to their variable rate, I will probably want to move my ISA again). I already knew that any withdrawals attracted a 90 day loss of interest, and wanted to know if this was the same for transferring out. After ages of phoning around, I was told that moving to another provider did not constitute a withdrawal and I would not lose 90 days interest. This only applied to closures and withdrawals.
One interesting thing she did say though was that when transferring my existing ISA to Lloyds, I could lose up to 30 days interest. Hmmm - that's a lot of cash!

Not sure about the 2nd point but you're not entirely clear about the first.
For transferring out: there IS a 90 day penalty within the 12 month fixed term (rule A5.4), and there ISNT after that (rule B4.2)0 -
not sure why today's Guardian article completely ignores this product

Where are you getting these from? I can't find any t&c on their website. Any chance of a link.
Thanks
Geoff
I know, pain in the ar*e isn't it! I got the t&c when they sent the forms to my branch for me to sign. There are sections A (for the 12 month fixed rate period) and B (for the variable rate cash isa following the initial FRISA period).
Can one upload scans to MSE? I could do that later,

That's a kind offer but I don't know how to do that. I must say I find it strange that the t&c aren't on their website. It follows the same pattern when I enquired at my Lloyds branch. In the end, they phoned up Mumbai or somewhere to find the answer to my query. It doesn't give you a lot of confidence!
Thanks again

I have an current account with Lloyds so I presumed that when I asked if could transfer my cash ISA from Halifax it would be straight forward. Wrong!! First the branch insisted I had an appointment with the Lloyds financial adviser. The financial advisor informed me that when I did the transfer it would be a good time to transfer 50% of my cash ISA into a Scottish Widows share ISA. I am 64 and already have a personal pension managed fund with an insurance company (about the same amount of money in thefund as in the cash ISA). Do you think I was given sensible advise?0
