It has taken 4 months for my ISA to be transfered to lloyds from halifax - lloyds agreed to backdate interest to date of opening and to give me 6.5% on the whole amount (plus it was still earning (small) interest at halifax)- the interest is being added to the ISA so it stays tax free - also getting £150 compensation paid outside of ISA- it has been a long haul but got there in the end!!!

    result!!

cheers- I was told that they can only add the interest to the ISA so that you dont get extra interest(from compensation) in the ISA - although it has been grief I will settle for this outcome- hopefully in future we will be able to transfer electronically so we dont get these delays

I was surprised ( although shouldn't be where LTSB's concerned) that roddydogs got told otherwise. I hope for his sake it will happen. At least he's got it in writing.

Roddydogs, although you've got an agreement about the £200 into the ISA, the downside for you is that they are not backdating to date of opening ( like Whu and I appear to be promised).
Shame we can't club together and offer each other the required proof that they are not being consistent in handling complaints.

Have had the same problems with the Lloyds ISA. Opened in 2nd week of April. Wanted to transfer £43K from two previous ISA's (Kent Reliance and Barclays) and pay in this year's allowance.

3 months later, the payment for this year is there but the transfers still have not happened. Have contacted the branch numerous times - no avail. Have just emailed the chief executive.

How did people get this problem resolved? Reporting to the ombudsman?

Although its not yet resolved my claim, as apparently the ombudsman has a backlog (I wonder why!) it will at least cheer you to know that you will cost Lloyds about £400 to have the ombudsman look into the complaint. You need to have exhasuted their own 'complaints' procedure which takes 8 weeks for them to say they can't do anything to help... Hopefully the ombudsman will eventuallly get it sorted out - although my fingers are still crossed on this one.

Thanks redcar. Lloyds have finally 'located' my money and say it will take up to 30 days for it to be credited to my ISA.

Did people get a letter in the post promising payment of 6.5% interest from the time the account was opened?
  • I won't go into the ins and outs of what's happened with my transfer as I would fill a whole page!

Basically I tried to transfer 2 x ISAs from the Nationwide to Lloyds.
    Went into branch April 2nd.
After a lot of !!!!-ups the funds finally got into my account in June.

I lodged a complaint at the start of June (still ongoing).
I am after financial compensation for many wasted hours spent trying to sort things out .

So far it has been decided that my ISA starts from April 2nd for 12 months.

I am getting the interest difference between the Nationwide & Lloyds rates backdated to April 2nd.
So that means I'm getting just over 2 months.
This amount is being paid into my Current Account shortly.

It really does appear that people are being treated differently!!

I cannot believe the inefficiency of people involved at both Nationwide & Llloyds.
The whole thing has been a total nightmare, and my complaint still hasn't been resolved.(expected to be in August providing they don't send me another "delay" letter!)
If it's not a bargain, it's not worth buying :D

I hope everyone's sorted out now....

I opened mine with transfers when it was 6.5% fixed, but haven't yet deposited this year's allowance. If I do will I get 6.5% or 5% on what I deposit?
