  • sporter- have you tried doinga spreadsheet with all your debts on each month? that way you can see it coming down and then every 4 weeks or so you get a little boost to get you through the next 4 weeks. i do this and really helps.

    also are you doing quidco and pigsback? have you tried babysitting, plant sitting, pet sitting? i also try and put £1 a day into a jar and then use that to over pay on my CC. if you cant afford a £1 try 50p what ever. i find the weekends the hardest not to spend money but have started instead of going out pubbing i get a bottle of wine and borrow a DVD off a friend.

    keep your head up pete
    Quidco =£446 march 09

    You do not need to provide them with a SOA or details of where you are getting the money from, but they also don't need to accept reduced payments on a debt. They could take it to court for a CCJ where a judge will decide what you should be paying.

    You received a call from them - why are they discussing your account? Did you confirm security details? Have you informed them that all communication should be in writing only?

    I'm really worried about them giving me CCJ and going to Court. I wont be able to handle this at all......too stressful..............as it is my doctor has referred me to counselling, but just found out that because I am working I will need to pay £10 for the hour:eek: . Think I would rather talk to you guys anyway.:beer:

    Thanks for the advice re details of where the money is coming from.........I think I may just have to pay them the £95 per month for the time being (until my new mortgage rate is here at least).

    Just spoke to NatWest.................

    A nice lady told me she will take off all the charges that were place on my account for going over overdraft limit, as it was the bank taking out their charges that made me go over my limit.:jShe went though my Income and Expenditure sheet with me and said I should just try and pay the interest off for now until things change (hopefully).

    She told me a thing or two to tell MBNA also!!!:T

    Sorry........me again!!

    Spoke to MBNA after completing letter to them. Spoke to my Accounts Manager who said the only option i have is to make payment of £95 per month, or settle the account with £4,200.

    What will actually happen when the debt is sold to a third party? I managed to check my equifax credit report today and saw that I had one default being M&S. Also, I noted that since this default occurring in December, it has not shown that I have made anymore payments after this although I have kept up with the arranged payment every month. Why is this? Is it the fact that once you have defaulted, nothing is shown afterwards.:confused:

    It will show up when the debt is satisfied, if that is in the next 6 years.

    Erm, I presume this isn't through NHS, then? Only counselling is usually free through your GP. Regardless of whether you have a job or not. Whole point, really, of the NHS. Disregard if not applicable. Also, counselling is good, it's good to talk but for the immediate things like how you feel ... surprised your GP did not suggest/mention any form of medication. There is no shame in it, if you break your leg you get treatment, no different. Only I mention that to you because from what you posted just then above, you need something to bolster your emotional state right now in an immediate way. Hope that made sense. It's always good to talk but it will not take away the anxiety or feelings of depression. Therefore, 2 ways are normally used to counteract it. I won't go into the exact physical/medical make up of these things because it's not the time nor place but just something to think on or get your GP to suggest to you. And I speak from plenty of experience of many years, so not just saying it for the sake etc.

    BTW, as you may have read further up this thread I have tried suicide, yes gone and done it rashly. Not something should be taken lightly nor discussed lightly, either. Anyway, up to you. So I know the processes that are available. Or should be made available. Anyway, I wish you well and hope you get somewhere with this because if you don't get the correct help through your GP it will not help you in the end. I wish you well.
    this at all......too stressful..............as it is my doctor has referred me to counselling, but just found out that because I am working I will need to pay £10 for the hour

    Whilst I remember but if your GP has referred you properly, not just to the practice counsellor who took a 12 week course in counselling and so on, but a properly registered, well experienced practicing counsellor then they may even be able to help you with the court/CCJ scenario IF it should ever arise. They might be able to write a letter for you on your behalf to the judge who will not have a clue about any of that unless someone tells him/her. Anyway, that's my take on it as I used to work for the NHS but have had plenty of experience dealing with these scenarios for many years now so do know the ins and outs of the process by now. The other benefit of having that written document may be it potentially could circumvent court action and get it set aside under medical grounds. Just an idea.
    Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.
