Changes To StayWarm

Easywarm is SWALEC's version of Staywarm. It's only available (as far as I know) in South wales.0

No longer relevant.0

Yep i'm living in south wales no special metres just the usual gas and electric. hubby thought we were signing for a year with no changes in standing order but it goes on your usage, which we thought was unlimited but once you hit their upper limit they set, the standing order goes up. sounded a good deal also someone had to be over 50yrs to join (thats hubby not me) they have put the age limit up to 60yrs now. dont think we will be with them for much longer you need to give 28days notice to quit, need to find a competative supplier gas and electric..0

Elaine, here's an old thread which discussed the significant usage allowance cuts of Easywarm in Feb 2006 http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=141158
Although I realise this is of little help now.
Selecting another supplier right now might be a bad idea - since the switch would take place just as your consumption is reaching it's peak months. Probably much better to wait until next march so that the switch happens around april time (or whenever you switch your central heating off).0 -
I have just had my new increase from Staywarm
For the last year I have paid £47.43 per month covering Gas and Electric.
Tye've informed me I have used
Gas.......................16328 kilowatt hours of gas
Electric..................3811
My increase would be to £64.14
I've tried two comparison sites and Staywarm are still the lowest for me based on giving them the above kilowatt details, but they're showing me savings ans I can't understand how.
I work that out to £770 per year and the lowets figures they show are £818 and telling me I'd be saving.
I can't understand this and am hoping someone with greater experience might help me out please.
Thanks.Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

I don't think any of the comparison sites include Staywarm in their comparisons.
So if you type in that your current supplier is Powergen the site assumes a standard Powergen tariff and tells you that switching can save even if it can't.0 -
So is there a way around that?
I think they may possibly be the cheapest for me though.
Maybe ai'll just have to ring around a bit.

Hi All, i have just been looking for my mum and dad. Uswitch includes a comparison with Staywarm. They pay £90 per month for a small bungalow with the two of them living there. Uswitch told me they could save £350 on that!0

Just food for thought, we have been told by Powergen that our new tariff for 2007 will be £94.07 a month, compared with last year £68.69
This is because we have breached the magic 4800 kwh usage on electricity, by 22.62 units!
If we want to switch there is really not that much else out there to compare. Scottish Power gives a three year deal, and we don't want the sort of commitment. If we go back to the normal tariff, prices can go either way, but usually head North for winter.
So it looks like we will stay, for this year atleast

I'm sure you'll save over Staywarm, I'm paying Scottish Power £68/month and I'm running with a small credit at the moment which will even out by the spring.
