We have a long running thread that's been working up to making pancakes today so I'll add this thread onto it.

  • Anyone else have currants (sprinked in whilst the batter is cooking) in their pancakes, along with sugar and lemon juice? My Mother always did them like that, and I still do them that way.

  • I made our own using Delia smith receipe was meant to make 12- 15 so i halved it thinking we would get 6 we actually only got 3 OH totally missed out - we had them with cadbury's caramel ice cream in them it was totally lush better than last years we had Carte d'or Chocolate orange ice cream in them then
  • I used this recipe:

It was really easy and it had pictures if you got stuck. Might be an idea to point Mr Badexample to this thread ;)

Never thought of that or I would have :(

I enjoyed ours though, I made them from scratch (polishes halo) and my daughter had savoury ones with bacon and I had sweet ones with honey, ice cream and a bit of lemon juice. Absolutely delicious.

The recipe I used was the really simple one; 100gm plain flour, 1 large egg, 1/2 pint milk and a pinch of salt. I heated a small amount of butter and olive oil and cooked the bacon first, then added the pancake mix to it. I even managed a couple of proper flips!! :)

Husband made some pancakes I had 5 and he had 4. Not sure how that happened.

Ended up using self raising flour as I had no plain in.

Mine where with a lemon and sugar. Very nice and husband said he would make them again as very easy and quick.

We had pancakes made up into canolloni (sp?), DD had 1, I had 2 and OH was supposed to have 3 but the other two were too full up to finish! I on the otherhand, having had no dinner as I was out shopping and didn't realise the time, scrapped OH's plate clean

I've still got battermix left in the fridge and I've promised DD she can have one or two tonight for her tea with icecream on and now she can't wait!
