  • seaniboy that is shocking :o

I cant believe they tailed you out the store HOURS after the "alleged" incident :(

sounds like they have it in for you -surely they have enough to do watching for shoplifters in that nightmare of a store without picking on genuine customers :(

    good luck with your complaint!

(ps have heard boots are going into the retail park by the kingsway - keep the thought of that to cheer you up xxx)
  • seaniboy - don't let them fob you off with the fact that they do not directly employ the security guards. They employ the firm to act as their agents - so they are responsible - end of story. Bet they say that the guards were over zealous and will be speaking to the firm concerned.

Do yourself a favour ctc your GP & file a medical report that your panic attacks have returned ASAP.
  • sorry for muddling up genuine complaints with my triviality i just am very confused about why they have sent me a second cd that is all. i will see what monday holds them email them - the phon number is an 0870 one so will cost an amr and a leg during the day, cheaper to email coz it comes off the broadband account.

a big (((hug))) to the poster who got hassled by the secuirty btw.

will have to go to docs tommorrow im a nervous wreck, ive caught people from my past retail mangement that have sat with hundreds of pounds smirking (how do they do it ???)

guess i wont be getting to argos or boots for a while again :( not that boots anyway!! took 18 months to get over the panic attacks, fortunatly i survived the accident with luck so the panic attacks were just a inconvience (2 yrs off agraphobia=inconvient, i must be an optomist ;D), i hope there not back and that was a one off, thanks for your concern everybody

how my gonna get my bonanzza points now.....ggggggggg >:(

ps) i noticed how a few said security followed them, i advise you to talk to your store manager, i was going to but never got round to it...look where that got me, do it next chance you get!
If I helped or saved you money - Thank me
If I helped you spend some money - spank me

i believe thats not within the law from my retail days, only the police would have authority to do so and only then if the incident boots fabricated was reported prior to me returning to the store

TBH, some of the security in the big stores, Boots included, don't know their a*se from their elbow.

I'm now a mystery shopper and do assignments for Boots. One of the things I have to do is hang aound 'hot' areas ie batteries, razors, Olay etc to see how I felt, whether I was approached etc. I have never ever been approached/made to feel uncomfortable. What makes me laugh is that I see groups of youths coming in and hanging around the fragrances, some presumably up to no good, and more often than not, they are not actively watched either. They are probably hounding some poor MSE at the time. ???

I was also a copper for quite a few years, down south, and know from personal experience what the security was like in my local Boots. A few years ago, this particular Boots had a manager waiting to retire and who couldn't be bothered so the CCTV was unmanned more often than not and he admitted to me that in the run up to Xmas, they were losing £1000 of fragrance PER DAY! Sounds like they are going completely the other way now. Maybe you've just got a jobsworth - or maybe they think young men should not be spending a fortune in Boots - obviously still a girlie trait?

Maybe you could go instore, grab a so called security guard (do they ever make you feel secure?) and ask him to carry your basket whilst you wander around. Or you could keep announcing in a very loud voice what you are doing eg "I'm just going to look at clearasil, then I'm off to shampoo, OK?" ;D

Hope everything goes OK for you Seaniboy. Give 'em hell, I say. :)

whos got an email/number for head office? >:( >:(

i got approched by two security guards from boots after leaving in the middle of the street....everyone watching how f*#$ing embarrsed was I?
    i dont do that easily either  :-[ :-[ :-[

will tell all later im too raging just now, 27 yrs old man and left town in tears

on a lighter note (not that i feel it just yet, but for your benefit) is there a ms m smith on this board from dundee store  today? ;) pm me!

to cut along story short they accused me a regular of shoplifting, and to provide a reciept, so much for their newly reburbished store if cctv doesnt pick me up paying for purchases. i was accused of this after poppin in at lunchtime, the incident took place at 9am this mornin while grabbing a BLT meal deal, i only kept my reciept because 3for2 offer only had 2 items on the shelf and assistant marked reciept as customer due 1 item and signed it. im not a happy bunny and legally they had no right to do so, u see i know the technicalities i used to be in store management!
still angry as hell about 300 people witness this in the middle of the town centre >:( >:(

Slightly similar experience in salford today, I went in with my 3 yr old and went straight to the toy ailse as I had enough points to treat him! out of nowhere two security guards appeared at the end of the aisle, strange as I've never seen security guards in that store!
They left after after a few secs probable to watch via CCTV etc.
Moved to the baby clothing aisle, having noitced a get 500 points for £25 spend offer within baby section, few secs later staff appear putting stock out.
Move to the Nappies section to get the £16 for two packs offer and get above the £25 spend and notice someone else appear. By this time I did'nt think it was coincedence!! >:(
As I had spent a while getting all this stuff decided to pay and leave but this has definately put me off BOOTS!

Though will go back once to another store just to spend all the remaining points!!
