  • Too true, us boyz have to exert assert ourselves ;)

By the way have they caught on, as my last two 150 point coupons have specifically exempted the lower priced items ( items priced up to £2.49) :'(
    Moi....? ;)

  • Seaniboy - hope your panic attack was a one-off. The most important thing is to make sure you are well. I def agree that Boots have behaved appallingly and you deserve a huge apology and compensation but nothing is more important than your health. :)

    Seaniboy,
Hope you are feeling better today, do not let them get away with this. What is it with these people, we are doing absolutely nothing wrong, we are only shopping using their vouchers!

Seaniboy, as far as I see it you are only get a share for all those people like me whose local voucher machines rarely work!

About 50% of the time my local Boots have no working machines, sometimes for weeks on end, so some they lose and some they gain.

Had a terrible fright today, one machine was actually open (hurrah) so I put my card in and it disappeared! I didn't want to leave the machine in case my card popped out and someone took it so I had to stand by the machine until a member of staff came by and wait for them to unlock it and get my card back. Once again all the local machines have 'out of order' on them so no bargains for me again  ???

    Soo

whilst in my local boots i was standing looking at something peed off because the machines had out of order signs on them.. abt 10 mins later a member of staff came along and just took off the sign . i questioned her and she said if the store is busy and they short of staff they do it .. so i say if the machine is switched on and the sign on.. knock the sign on the floor accidently off course and try the machine .. to me if its out of order it should be switched off

  • I don't really understand this stuff, found it on another forum I use. Maybe of use to some people.

    20gb Ipod for £124

    In-store at certain Boots stores...

    Here's how...

Go to one of the special Christmas open evening that Boots are holding in certain stores around the country.

    Buy 20GB IPOD @ £219.99
Buy some other goods to value of approx £3.01
    Total Cost £223.00

    Take to till

Use one of those 10% “store” coupons if you have one (these were on leaflets containing 3 x 10% coupons valid at the same store as issued, ask if you haven’t got one as they are often just given out)

    TOTAL COST now £200.70

Use a “Spend £75 get 750 points” coupon from the machine = 750 points (£7.50)
    Get 1200 points for every £50 spend = 4800 points (£48.00)
    Get 4 points for every £1 qualifying spend = 892 (£8.92)
    Use a Double Points Voucher = 892 (£8.92)

    POINTS Value = £73.34

By my calculation, effective cost of IPOD is approx £124.35 (take off £3.01 spend)

In case anyone is still interested in this, a list of the Special Evenings can be found at

    http://gallery118372.fotopic.net/p9439184.html

As far as I know you only get the 1200 points for 50 pound spend on special evenings. Don't know if any coming up, there were some this week in some stores.

This one takes a bit of effort, but I have been assured that it will work and has already been successfully tested. I am not a boots expert so this is the most information I can supply.

*HUGS* to all those who've been hassled by boots staff :-(

the only time i've been given grief was when i accidentally shoplifted (easily done when you've got a young baby in a pram, it starts crying, you grab something out of the pram lid/basket for it and accidentally put an item you had in your hand into the place in your pram you got your bottle/etc. from), they gave me hell when i took it back and explained that i'd walked out with it by accident!!! i didn't want it, i'd been deciding between two sizes (it was baby clothes) and i bought the bigger size, thought i'd put the smaller size back on the shelf ... sigh ... next time i do that i'm giving the shoplifted item to a charity shop instead of taking it back lol!
