Seaniboy,
Hope you are feeling better today, do not let them get away with this. What is it with these people, we are doing absolutely nothing wrong, we are only shopping using their vouchers!
Hope things are better ((hugs)). I got followed round one of the Glasgow stores at the time the Delicious foods 50 pts voucher was on the go. Not nice. When I went into the store I always went straight to the nearest Advantage card machine so I could get one of the lovely vouchers and he used to watch me bring out my purse, go through the screens, get my voucher and put my purse, card and vouchers back in my bag. By the time I walked down to the food the other sceurity guard would be waiting to watch me put the grub into my basket and go to the till to pay for it. On the way back out the first guard would take over the watch. I swear they were just waiting for the alarm to go off as I walked out of the store.
I just hate the way they leave you feeling as if you're up to something when you're not.No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.0 -

if ever i feel that the security guards are excessivly eyeing me up for no reason then i will stand in the store and shout that i am putting whatever im buying into my basket that im going to the till etc.. i would shout my everymove out to them and embaress them and when i got to the till i would tell the person what i was doing then go home use the paracetamol i had probably had to buy with all the shouting and chill lolThose we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0 -
Just a note for seaniboy - if you're intending on using the data protection act to request the cctv footage:
To do this you just need to send £10 (or a £10 cheque) to their Data Protection Officer (Presumably at their head-office) - and request the footage. As far as I know they have to respond within 30 days (not necessarily with the actual footage).
To comply with the DPA they have to blur everyone else out on the footage "respect privacy" - which could cost them a fortune (If they don't blur everyone out - complain to the data protection commissioner) https://www.informationcommissioner.gov.uk.
They may reply that they won't give you a copy of the tape because of a recent court ruling about cctv footage that it "wasn't identifying individuals". *BUT* the ruling was something along the lines of cctv that didn't zoom on individuals etc. and stores like boots tend to have fancy cameras with really good zooms that swivel and zoom. If they still refuse to give you a copy then complain again to the dpa commisioner.
I think the information commisioner has some rules hidden on their site about the effective use of cctv and allowing public access.
You might want to ring the manager of the store and tell them to keep the tape.Total for 2009: L'Oreal Lip Duo, Diary, Motability Guide
