making the decision to end a relationship is one of the hardest things to do.
i felt awful when i ended it with my ex fiance a few yeas ago even though i knew it was the right thing for both of us, he hadn't done anything wrong i just realised that i saw him more of a friend than anything else. It was hard for the first few weeks, especially as we had the same set of friends. luckily in our situation we managed to stay friends and when he got a new girlfriend (who he is still with) she let me live with her for a few months after i was made homeless.
it may be hard for a while but inside you know that it is the right decision for the both of you

Big Hugs Lucy. Sounds like you've done the right thing. It'll be hard at first for both of you but you'll both get over it and move on in time and be much happier.

I've been dumped several times, and although it has of course hurt at the time, I can honestly say that looking back I'm now glad the relationships ended. I'm sure in time your OH will see that you've done them a favour. If it's not right, it's not right.

Aww ellerose, it's not always that bad, I was far better off financially and emotionally when I divorced my liar and cheat of an ex!

I'm on 'a break' with my fella too, and think we'll not be together all that much longer. I'm feeling claustrophobic and need some time alone...better for my mental health I think.
He's a lovely chap, but just not right for me at the moment.

Hi Ephemera - I am in a similar position, we aren't on a break but I feel exactly the same and I really don't think I can go on with the relationship much longer, but OH seems to be oblivious which makes it all the harder. My OH is also a fantastic bloke but I just need to be solo, and I now think of him more as a wonderful friend than partner, although I know that he won't want that and it will be all or nothing and the thought of not having him in my life is absolutely breaking me, but not as much as the thought of carrying on with the relationship.
