Split with OH tonight

Hi

I know some of you will know I have been having trouble with OH, well I ended it tonight. I know it's the right thing for me, I know and feel this deep down. But I feel terrible because I have hurt him.

He has no idea what he has done wrong even though I have explained how I am feeling endless times.

Why is it you can feel so bad for doing the right thing for you???

I've put this on my diary and the debt and depression thread. I doubt anyone has anything to say but I just feel so lousy.

I think I'd agree with penguin.
If you dragged it out both of you would suffer in the long run

Oh Lucy. As other poster i dont really know the background.

Its never easy splitting up with someone... especially as you know you have hurt them. But as you have said it is right for you.

    Big hugs.

I know and this is what I keep telling myself but it doesn't seem to be helping. I just couldn't live with his selfish ways any more. I mean we were out this afternoon and he completely ignored me for over an hour and when he did finally come over to me, he stood behind me so I could talk to him or see him.

    I'd just had enough.

Big hugs (and dodgy smilie alert) to you Lucy.

It will be hard on you both for a little while but rest assured, if it was right thing to do for you, it was ultimately also the right thing to do for him. x

I guess it will save me some money as I wont have the 26 mile round trip to his place a couple of times every weekend.

I know in my heart it's right, I saw a friend earlier and told him I feel calmer on the inside but a bit wibbly on the outside.

Lucy, don't beat yourself up hun, you have done what is right for you and although you're both hurting it is better to have done this now than to be together for any longer, as then things would get very bitter and inwardly you would hate yourself for not having done it sooner. I know this from experience and the resentment I had for my ex was awful and we ended up hating each other!

Take care and remember this is the start of YOUR new life - enjoy it xx

    Aw hun *hugs*

I can't add anything to what people have already said ... just that it's better to do it now if it's not working for you, than waste your time (and his) on trying to carry something on that's just not right.

Tonight is just the first shock of it, don't worry, just be kind to yourself ... give it a little time ... you'll be OK and in the long run happier for it. Just keep focused on you xx
