Jinny I think if you look back through this thread there have been hints & tips about painting furniture. Maybe use the 'search this thread' link in the header. Could check out HariboJunkie's posts too as I think she may have posted about how she painted stuff. HTH”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)

Wow, you were lucky to get such a lovely dresser on Freecycle. I have been looking on mine for ages and nothing so nice has been on yet. I'm a bit nervous about adding a WANTED on there but then as the saying goes...if you don't ask, you don't get.
I am off now to have a read through your blog! I was meant to be getting ready to go out....I have no discipline where this shabby chic thread is concerned:o£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0 -

i love your kitchen....it looks very 40's 50's to me it just goes to show with all the beautifull pics that people are posting... that the best homes are the ones that people have done with love, and not just gone into a chain store and obugth a ready made image look....
which reminds me..... got to get some sweet pea seeds..... so i can get loads growing in the garden..... so i will have lovely fresh flowers for the kitchen this summer....Work to live= not live to work0 -
What a difference a coat of paint has made, it looks like a quality piece of furniture.0

Hi Charley
The walls are Cornforth White #228 in estate emulsion
The cabinets are Hardwick white #5 oil eggshell
The wardrobe is Slipper satin #2004 oil eggshell
The table & chairs are french grey #18 oil eggshell
& the new dresser is Pigeon #25 oil eggshell
All Farrow & Ball of course!!!!:D
The house is a work in progress and I will try to post a few more pics...its definately all shabby.... built in 1689 its a bit crumbly at the edges and its an estate house so not our own to do work on but the estate is pretty easy going and we can do what we want but structure wise it is definately knackered so that restricts us but we do have a lifetime lease so any money spent won't be wasted...
plus a little plug...I will be selling the bunting online soon so keep an eye on my blog for details. TC Rxsimplicity is key0 -
RB it looks fantastic
I want to get the rest of my house done before I embark on the kitchen! It does for now and serves it's purpose ad we would love to extend it so it has a bit more space as currently it is a galley kitchen with scope for extending into a square at the bottom! so I think I will wait until then
Back to work today after nine daysat least it is sunny so I will not be walking around in the rain!

I adore sweet peas too and am definately going to plant some this year....totally agree with the chain store look totally against my ethos when you can recycle and get an authentic look...definately don't want to be giving anymore money to the man!!simplicity is key0
