Hi all. Gosh, how fab. I've been away, and it looks like I've got around 30 odd pages to catch up on: can't wait.
I've added some more photos to my original one on flickr - thanks to an earlier post on this thread (sorry, can't remember who it was, but huge thanks) I ordered some lovely things off halfcost.co.uk and came back to a pile of boxes with my neighbour and I've now started clearing out my horrible old stuff. So if you want to see take a look:

I couldn't resist the curtains for my dd's room: £1!!!! And beautiful embroidered motifs (though totally impractical, but fortunately she doesn't mind the sun shining thru in the mornings).
I've also got a pic of before and halfway thru of my sewing box on there - nearly finished it...just got to line it now and I picked up some gorgeous Cath Kidston fabric while I was away which will be perfect with the Dimity paint. Thank you all for the inspiration which led to this. xx

I'd go for it. It was very easy to paint and great fun to do as it's such a relatively quick project: I just gave it a good sand, primed and undercoated it once with an all in one cheapy paint, and then used the Dimity. Fiddly bit was putting it together again, and I'm ashamed to say I had to let DH do it in the end - as they are handmade, all the bits have to go in specific places cos the holes slightly vary position, and I couldn't work it out. :rotfl:
It was lined with cardboard covered with a plastic fabric. I'm going to use the Cath Kidston, and the cardboard templates, and do the same. I don't need plastic or oilcloth, as I only intend to use it for my threads/lace bits/etc. Prob is, I'm fighting the kids off it at the mo! :rotfl:

Mollymop5: you will get huge satisfaction from doing it, and she'll love it. I can't stop looking at mine, and I really didn't understand why I bought it in the first place. It was all to do with this thread!

Clutterfree: Huge congrats from me also.

We are going away to Australia in 2 weeks time to see our grandson. We will be away for 6 weeks, can you imagine what I will have to catch up on when I get back. I might have to check in now and again while I am there, to get my fix:rotfl:

I know what you mean, ive put all my little sewing bits, needles, pins etc and lost count how many times my little girl has 'sorted it out' for me, she keeps asking me to sew something so she can pass me the things out of it!

It has 'been sorted' 4 times today so not too bad!!
