    Thanks everyone - im really pleased with how it turned out - was a real labour of love but the hammered fingers, cuts and hole in my knee from kneeling on a tack are well worth it :D

    nomoney - im coming down on sunday either on the way to the carboot or on the way back depending if its on and i havent packed the car just to unpack it again! :rotfl:

    That is just lovely, how did you do it, I wouldn't know where to start on a project like that

    Thank you :) I started from scratch, ripped off all the fabrics, sanded it down and worked up from there. 4 layers of paint with sanding in between meant that i could make a start on the fabric.....i had bought the stud strips to use on the writers bureau but got so excited about this project that i now have to buy some more! :rotfl: Ebay is a godsend! It needed something to finish it off so i made the little green cushion and stitched some mother of pearl buttons onto it :)

    I especially love the material you have used to cover it :T . Well done.
    I was thinking of getting one similar for my vestibule (not to use as a phone table but somewhere to sit and put your shoes on and off and to stick the mail when it drops through the door. I was a little wary of what it would look like but now I've seen your photos I'm definitely going to have a look for one.:j
