I resisted bidding on a larder/cupboard on ebay and then felt so miserable that i went to some charity shops and got these.........2387572785_6cea67ff3d_m.jpg

And this is a crocheted blanket that my daughter bought me at the week-end.(Dont know how to change the date on my camera)
I did empty a cupboard and now have loads of plates.cups etc that i will either free cycle or put in the charity shop.

Everybody has different opinions but oil based paint is best for hard wearing areas. You could always go over the acryclic with a matt varnish for extra strength.

I have painted some of my low kitchen cupboards in a cream arcylic eggshell and they have kept well for the last 2 years withstanding 2 kids, dog, cat & husband.

I don't know what everyone else prefers but I find acrylic so much better and not as messy when cleaning after

PS Can I have your husband when you have finished with him!!!! Mine won't let me paint the rest of the dated cupboards

Thanks. What make of acrylic eggshell did you use? And did you use matt varnish? Its just I'm so scared of getting it wrong. I also prefer to use paints that clean with water

I think I used Craig & Rose or could of been B&Q's period range. I did a paint effects/interior course at college and they use to love their C&R paints. I never got round to applying the varnish and it is still in good condition.

Lelc- You can get a primer called ESP Primer which creates a good surface on any shiny surface.
