I can't take the credit for posting about the quilts. :o It was jess1974 and cooltrikerchick who posted about them originally. :T

But you had photos of them in situ. And they look fab:beer:

I managed to get some nice shabby chiciness on Ebay for very little money, things seem to be slowing down a bit on there just now.

  • I popped into my local hospice charity shop today and got a pretty little yellow wedgewood jug and a green glass vase, plus a book on needlework and a load of buttons. The grand total was £3!
I shall dig my camera out at some stage and try and get some photos.

They also had a lovely nest of tables that could be done up a treat, so I might take the husband in to have a look at them with me tomorrow, because I don't drive, so can't get them home on my own.
Anyone fancy buying my degree? It will only cost you £18k.

I am going to paint my new oak kitchen doors and since OH has agreed reluctantly I don't want to get it wrong.
When I painted my dresser for the conservatory I used an acrylic eggshell from Craig and Rose. Am worried that this sort of paint would not be hard enough wearing for a kitchen. Please can I have some advice .........thanks

My husband would divorce me if I even suggested that:eek: .

We are going to paint ours but I don't think they are solid oak and not new;)

I know but he also knows how much I want a green kitchen and you can't seem to get one without paying the earth for it. The silly thing is we have just taken out a green painted oak kitchen [ painted when doors were about 15 yrs old] but the doors wouldn't fit the new cupboards
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

Haribo, when I saw your photo of the cream Aldi quilt I thought I'd go and get one for our king size bed ( unfortunately only single ones left in that colour :( ) - but thought you might like to know that when I showed OH your photo to let him see it before he bought it - he thought it was from a magazine or a brochure selling the quilt! ( I'm meaning that as a compliment by the way! )

I washed and washed (and washed) my eiderdown and am thinking I might keep it now!www.kittythimble.typepad.com

If you are still having problems with the smell then I saw an idea on here (can't remember OP) which might work - you seal the item in a bag with the charcoal liner for an oven hood (black bin bag might be big enough).

    Thanks Rosy. :D

TBH, I could have got away with a single quilt as I don't want it to cover the whole bed so it is currently folded in half so if you use it like that, the single should be fine. They really are huge. ;)
