Shabby Chic Thread?

HopeElizzy wrote: »Hello everyone
Does anyone know where I can buy a nice "shabby" teacosy?:D
I don't generally use my teapot alot but recently my mil has been around, looking after the kids, and she does. As I don't have a teacosy she has wrapped my kitchen towels around the pot to keep it warm while brewing........ now I have unattractive, tea stained pale blue towels! Am a bit cross about that so before me and her fall out over a towel I need to find a teacosy!!
TIA
:TP.S. Keep going with the thread all you regulars - it makes brilliant reading and there's been some great tips and blogs to look at. Many thanks
Not sure about where to buy one, but I did find this pattern if you fancy having a go at knitting one:http://www.knitting-and.com/knitting/patterns/teacosies/cable-teacosy.htm0 -

Thank you! Found lots to inspire. I didn't even think of using flickr, as it's such a new idea for me.

thank you so much for posting these. I was trying to find a fabric heart tutorial this morning - I typed everything I could think of into google, and failed to find anything at all (lots of postcard tutorials came up!) and went off feeling quite dispirited. This has really inspired me, and I'll be trying something similar out because of your post. It just always helps seeing something done for a klutz like me who's bad at visualising the end product. Huge thanks!
Vintagepleasure: I love the cabinet. I can't wait to see how it looks after painting. What a bargain!
ps: I love the other things you have made as well. I think you will do really well with the sale. Yes please, do post more pics.
I couldn't find a good guide either but some templates for you.
I made one heart and altered it about three times and I'm still not really happy with it I don't think I stufeed it quite enough and I think the point goes in too sharply , hope that makes sense
Good luck with your show us a pic please

I thought you might like to see the way I've decided to display some of my vintage Pyrex. I am trying to de-clutter and only keep what I will use often or I find beautiful.I never use these Pyrex plates so decided to display them instead.
I got a £7.50 money off voucher from eBay I used it to buy pack of self adhesive plate hangers. So they cost me £2.50 for 10.They are so much better than the wire ones as you can remove them without damaging the plate at all.0 -

Hi VP those plates look fab. Sorry if this has been asked before but what paint/colour did you use on your dresser ? I love it. ThanksNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

A word of warning. Don't get too carried away or you might find that you are charged not just customs duty on your parcel, but also a fee by the carrier for collecting the duty. IIRC spending up to £18 including the shipping is the limit.0
