I didn't know that! The bloke that came to fix our cooker came from Manchester and he said that he wasn't even allowed to have one in his lounge as they are not allowed to have smoke coming from their homes in the city anymore?? I love an open fire, we only use logs though and last Xmas I bought some of those "Northern Lights" pine cones from Lakeland that make the flames dance different colours. The kids loved it and I hope they remember it as a good memory when they grow up.0 -
I live in a smokeless zone and so use smokeless coal or very well dried logs in the multifuel stove as I live in Skipton North Yorkshire lots of narrow boats on the canal easy to get delivered to your house not cheap about £350 in a year but that includes coal for the boat so not to bad .0

Are we talking gas or coal?
Facepainter I bet the 'Northern Lights' were gorgeous. Sometimes health and safety re just spoil sports. Just a side note but I think because they are against regulations if there was a accident due to the bedroom fires then some insurance companies won't cover you. It's worth checking your policy just to see.0 -
Sweetpea03, was it you that was after the pyrex in blue with snowflakes on it?We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

Well I've decided on my not very ambitious first project. Im an avid scrap booker, and have been after a recipie book to write my recipies down in for ages, so decided to make it something I can display in my shabby chic kitchen. Heres some examples of what I mean, but with diff paper etc...
