It's ebay that's the problem. We have plenty of charity shops and they are really good for smaller items but they don't tend to sell larger items of furtniture. Also very few 2nd hand furniture shops - in fact I only know of one within a 30 mile radius. Having said all that though I still love living where I do and wouldn't swap it for the world.

Is there an Emmaus shop near you? They have furniture I believe. Here's their website - you can search for shops on it.

For those of you who use F&B paints - have you tried the water based eggshell? Is it as good as the oil-based? I really hate having to clean brushes in chemicals and much prefer to use water based paint if I can.

I used a Craig and Rose water based acrylic eggshell on my dresser, and after I'd given the tin a really good shake to mix the paint up, it was fine. Dried very quickly too.

Bibbly- I like it how it is

When working my way through the whole thread someone had posted a picture of a chest she bought for the bedroom and ended up putting it in the lounge because if its size, I'm sure that had some natural wood on it if i recall and it looked fab, would love to find that post but i'm not good a searching for those

What colour and paint did you use?

I think this is the website you are on about :)
