Rather a long shot here but does anyone know where a pattern could be got to make this

It is described as a "bucket" and I am wondering whether it would work, if you bought one of those small plastic tub "trugs" and then just covered it using wadding and patchwork pieces? Presumably you could pin cheap curtain lining or calico on it to get your basic pattern? Just a thought.

Alternatively you could cover a wicker basket of a similar shape?

We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

It gets worse the further north you go. I did a search yesterday for stuff close to me - I had to go to 100 miles before any type of furniture appeared - even then it was just a sofa and couple of other bits. My parents and dd live in the Midlands and southern england so when I'm next off to visit I'm going to have a wee lookie on e-bay before I go and see if I can pick up a bargain then - I just won't plan on taking any luggage!!!

I agree with you and Mollymops, I looked on the localbargainfinder for "up North" and there wasn't much near me. There were millions of DVDs though, but that's not what we want:rolleyes:

I think that it must be one of those "grass is greener" things - I'd thought that the best things came from N England, Scotland or Devon!

I gave in to temptation and e-mailed to ask if seller really was asking the best part of £300 for it or if it was a typo - will let you know if I get an answer!

No answer to my e-mail as yet!

Just won three of these radiators on ebay for £15 the lot!

Will be using them in my new flat, when I get it! They're lovely, and can't wait to paint them up and hang my little shabby chic fabric hearts from them.

Wow, a real trip down memory lane here! The programme you describe was called Ryan & Ronnie, they had a weekly sketch called 'Our 'Ouse', which was supposed to be about life in a valley terrace.
Ryan Davies was Mam - do you remember his cross over pinnie, slippers and the way he used to hold the loaf of bread under one arm while cutting a slice towards himself? my mum tried and nearly cut herself! The kids were called 'Phylis Doris' and 'Nigel Wyn', and Ronnie played 'Dad' although the kids had to be reminded 'don't call Will on your father!' when they used his first name ...

I wish the shows had been recorded, they were brilliant!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ..to be honest the only part that i can remember is ryan tanding in front of a table with the bread under his arm, and the knife, and the APRON.... lol.....i think the programmes must have been late 60's early 70's ..... i would love to see that programme again.... even if its just to see the apron..

ok back on topic......everything is on hold at mo in our house... kids are on holidays.. i am busy trying to catch up in work... and desperate to try and get some listings done....so no shabby chic'ing for me at mo.... but stil collecting ....lol..
