When I was a little girl I used to visit my 3 Great Aunties house.
On a Saturday afternoon, they would serve a lovely afternoon tea - cakes on cake stands, salad, sandwiches, pot of tea, etc.
My highlight of this was the crockery. They had a wonderful pastel set with a side plate, dinner plate, bowl, cup and saucer in each of the colours - pink, blue, green and yellow - they were white on the outside of the cups and bowls but the inside were coloured. They always ensured I got the pink set!
Oh how I loved that crockery. :A
I've been looking for years for something similar but the closest I have come are these on Ebay, but they aren't the colours I want as I want blue included, and they have dinner plates but not side plates.

Then today I found these:

I was so happy as it is just what I wanted. :j Okay it has mugs not cups but that is fine. The only problem is, they don't appear to do dinner plate size.I am so disappointed. Can anyone help please?
Thanks and sorry for the long post.
Have you seen the Ikea ones? I don't know that they're pastel-ly enough though?
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40113222 They definitely do the plates to match because I saw them in there on Wednesday.

When OH gets back I'm going to let him look at it as even when stirred the paint keeps separating ....maybe there is something wrong with it. Will have to try and find receipt.
Sounds like there is definately something wrong with it. Why don't you ring them now and tell them the problem, they will tell you to bring it back. You just don't know how long some of this paint stands on the shelf.0 -
If anyone is in the Plymouth are then this dresser has already been shabby chic'ed and painted with F&B paint....

And the people that were looking at Black Otter shabby chic pieces on Ebay, they've got a website! I've been building up a list of bits and bobs I'd like from there (I wanted a Housekeepers box amongst things) and found that they have lots more on their website www.blackotter.co.uk0 -

Ooooooooohhhhhhhhh hello everyone
What a brill day I have hadWe decided to venture out to Totnes today as the market was on and they had an indoor flea market too! I could have bought loads and loads, hundreds of vintge fabric and lace stalls at pennies a piece all the shops are virtually shabby chic style and vintage and there are more tea rooms than you can throw a scone at
but I came away with only a few reels of vintage ribbon, some lace and a few pieces of vintage fabric to make some hearts out of.
Hubby also got round to putting up my big shabby painted overmantle mirror too.
Anyway............we had to rush back home for 4pm as I had the kitchen designer coming around from, he was hre a total of 2 hours, no hard sales person, relaxed and friendly!
We have arranged our finances to incorporate an extra payment that we can comfortably afford and I am soon going to be the proud owner of a Country Cottage Kitchen that is an off white Edwardian style with panelling complete with 6 burner duel fuel cannon range
A built in microwave, Intergrated Washer and Dishwasher and 1.5 Bowl Ceramic Sink, porcelain taps with matching drawer and door handles with ash work topsI have waited 15 years for my own kitchen that I have planned
It will take around 10 weeks before they can fit, but hey that is nothing compared to the wait I have had!
Tomorrow we are off to watch Spiderwick ith the kidshope you all have a good Easter Weekend

I was given a pine cupboard by a friend and inspired by this thread decided to shabby chic it. I didn't want to paint all of it (hadn't the guts to be honest) so just gave the inside a coat of paint so that it will enhance my ornaments and what-nots.
I'm not sure whether or not to paint the bottom cupboard on the outside yet....possibly change the handles too?
what do you think?0
