I've got my first project! It's a little table with a drawer to go out in the hallway. It's pretty shabby already lol, but needs tarting up! I've been and bought some F&B paint (was sooooo hard choosing which one, but I went for the one I've read about on here - Dimity and a dark cream for the drawer front).
I'll post some before and after piccies when we're done :D Am all excited ;)

    Ooooooooohhhhhhhhh hello everyone :)

What a brill day I have had :) We decided to venture out to Totnes today as the market was on and they had an indoor flea market too! I could have bought loads and loads, hundreds of vintge fabric and lace stalls at pennies a piece all the shops are virtually shabby chic style and vintage and there are more tea rooms than you can throw a scone at :) but I came away with only a few reels of vintage ribbon, some lace and a few pieces of vintage fabric to make some hearts out of.

Hubby also got round to putting up my big shabby painted overmantle mirror too.

Anyway............we had to rush back home for 4pm as I had the kitchen designer coming around from, he was hre a total of 2 hours, no hard sales person, relaxed and friendly!

We have arranged our finances to incorporate an extra payment that we can comfortably afford and I am soon going to be the proud owner of a Country Cottage Kitchen that is an off white Edwardian style with panelling complete with 6 burner duel fuel cannon range

    CannonRange.jpg

A built in microwave, Intergrated Washer and Dishwasher and 1.5 Bowl Ceramic Sink, porcelain taps with matching drawer and door handles with ash work tops :) I have waited 15 years for my own kitchen that I have planned :) It will take around 10 weeks before they can fit, but hey that is nothing compared to the wait I have had!

Tomorrow we are off to watch Spiderwick ith the kids :) hope you all have a good Easter Weekend

    xxx

Your new kitchen sounds gorgeous! I'd love a cooker like that :) My kitchen is so small it would take up most of it lol
And I agree that Totnes is fab, haven't been there for a while. My stepmum has a smoothie shop there at the top of the town :)
I need to plan an excursion there soon without the kids (they're 1 and 2), as it's impossible to look at anything whilst they're with you. There is only so much chocolate you can bribe them with :o

I went out today for a little stroll! Narberth is packed with antiques shops and had a nice browse and wished prices were cheaper - hey ho! But went to a place id never stpped in before, like a house clearence place but think they calle themselves antique dealers too! But prices are good. i got a dressing table mirror, been after one for ages but this is a generous size and at £9 i was happy. Then i spotted a lloyd loom padded storage box....ideal for in the hall for kids to sit on and fill with shoes. Got it for £11, cant wait to play with it tonight! lloydloom.jpg

    Has anyone painted lloyd loom?
    Any tips for painting wicker?!

Thanks Penny, how much would you say is needed for the average dishcloth?

About a third to a half a ball of double knit (DK) cotton. You can use any plain yarn that you have lying around (textured yarn is not tough enough, usually. If you have a look on the knitting thread in OS then there are quite a lot of posts about dishcloths etc.

Here is a link to all the dishcloth posts in the knitting thread:

    Great find :-)

Lloyd & wicker can be tricky to paint, if you can try and find a nice spray paint

I've done loads of these over the years - I find if you water the paint down slightly it doesn't clog the holes so much.....Good luck with it - I love lloyd Loom stuff

ooh.. painted wicker.. we got one of those water pump spray things.. this kind of thing.. you pump the handle to create pressure and use it like a spray.. but filled it with watered down paint.. worked a treat.. and stayed on! It is such a faff to get into all the bits with a brush!!
