There are some plates etc in their clearance but I think they are too small for dinner plates (haven't got my ruler handy!)
Thanks Sweetpea, yes I have found the clearance section too! :T
I have emailed them to see if they do the plates in 2 sizes and if they do it's all systems go....

Thanks to Facepainter I've had a look on Ebay and the closest I have come to are these:
These are Poole pottery but I am sure the ones my Aunts had would have been "inspired" by this design rather than made by Poole - more likely they had a Woolworths copy!!.
I think they were sturdier looking too.
These Poole ones were from the 1960's.
I visited my Aunts in the 1970's and they had them then so it seems about right.
Sorry to go on about them but I REALLY want something like them, have done for years and now this thread has inspired me to look for them!Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Danceinthedark and Elidee - fab paint jobs well done! :money:
Vivw - I love the green, so pleased the paint was good in the end.
Well I've started my first ever teeny project.
Sanded and washed that awful mirror frame today and have primed it.
Took longer to prime than expected as the frame is quite detailed and had to use a small brush to get into all the crevices.
Will probably paint on Monday as we are out tomorrow. I bought Dimity in the end.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

my mum had a lloyd loom chair in the bedroom years ago - she bought it second hand and her dad painted it for her first flat when she was a student (early 60's) when she married her MIL made a satin cusion for it (great sewer my nan). when she did the bedroom out 10 years ago it created quite a stir at the church jumble sale eventually one lady out bid for 20 pounds and got it - she was well chuffed - even if it was origionally priced at 5 pounds. the thing that makes me laugh about lloyd loom is that they also made comode chairs in the same style, i rember looking for furniture in my local paper several years ago for furniture for an unfurnished rental property, and came across an advert saying :' Lloyd loom comode chair 10 pounds - stool extra' certainly made me and my housemates laugh!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

I do hope that you manage to find them, they are such lovely colours & it will be wonderful for you to recreate the memories with your own children0 -
This dresser was originally that almost black colour, I painted it cream and last Christmas I wanted a change so I slapped a coat of garden paint on, very slap dash job but it pleased me because it was a more Christmassy colour
It got more trimmed at Christmas time..
I really want one of those cabinets that you got Haribo and painted and put in your laundry room I could do with the storage but I doubt one will come up in my area.Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

If its paper, I suppose its quite important not to get it too wet!
I think it will withstand painting. I have just been checking my facts. The lloyd loom weave is created by spinning kraft paper around steel wire, which is woven on a loom to create a very strong and versatile material that can be formed into almost any shape. The lloyd loom weave is unique and only furniture made this way can be given the lloyd loom name. Just looked at the price of a brand new woven lloyd loom armchair, the type that we probably all come across, £195:eek:
Little bit o history there gels;)0 -

Thanks for all your comments re the Craig and Rose paint I bought. But I think I panicked. Harry did another coat on the bottom section of the dresser last night land it looked much better . But when we got home this evening, I shook the paint up and it seems much better. Obviously needed a more thorough mixing up than just a stir. Have given some of it another coat and will see if it needs any more on those bits. Pictures of the dresser, painting in progress - here
Glad to hear all is well, your dresser looks fab.0 -
