Thanks for all your comments re the Craig and Rose paint I bought. But I think I panicked. Harry did another coat on the bottom section of the dresser last night land it looked much better . But when we got home this evening, I shook the paint up and it seems much better. Obviously needed a more thorough mixing up than just a stir. Have given some of it another coat and will see if it needs any more on those bits. Pictures of the dresser, painting in progress - hereWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

But went to a place id never stpped in before, like a house clearence place but think they calle themselves antique dealers too! But prices are good. i got a dressing table mirror, been after one for ages but this is a generous size and at £9 i was happy. Then i spotted a lloyd loom padded storage box....ideal for in the hall for kids to sit on and fill with shoes. Got it for £11, cant wait to play with it tonight!
Has anyone painted lloyd loom?
Any tips for painting wicker?!
I think spraying would give a better finish, it's just finding a good colour in a spray! Also, don't want to seem like a know it all:o but, did you know that lloyd Loom is not wicker? it is made of paper wrapped around wire or something.0 -

If its paper, I suppose its quite important not to get it too wet!We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0 -

I used 2 parts emulsion / 1 part water. It was thin enough not to clog up the holes and as Lloyd Loom is paper wrapped round wire, it soaked into the paper quite well too. I did it years ago, but if memory serves it needed a couple of coats......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Thanks Facepainter, it was so kind of you to go out of your way and look for me but no, it wasn't as delicate looking as that and if memory serves me correctly, the colour was in the outside and the white/cream colour was on the outside.
It was more pottery than china, I think.
I'm am off to see my Mum tomorrow so shall ask her about it.
Thank you for your help, though.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.
