wish i had seen this quote last night it only went for £10!!!!IT'S ALL ABOUT ME!!!:j:money:0 -
Feeling really fed up. Got my dresser on Thursday evening and was too tired last night to start on it. So early this morning I washed the bottom half with sugar soap, sanded it and primed it....so far so good. Then went to B & Q and bought some Craig and Rose 1829 acrylic eggshell paint in a lovely green colour. Have now painted it and the paint is awful. Very thin and in places seems to bubble and also remove some of the primer. How I wish I'd got a normal satin paint now. Not sure what to do......We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

Take it back to the shop. Sometimes you get a bad tin of paint. This happened to my friend with dulux gloss, the paint kept bubbling. The shop changed it and the new tin was fine. I always take back anything faulty, also if you have had to travel far I would ask for fuel money. Worth a try.;)0 -

We once bought B&Qs own make emulsion in what we thought was a creamy yellow colour. I was in bed with a migraine so husband though he would be good and paint walls. He had 2 big walls done, I got up out of bed for a cuppa and I nearly died, it was like citrus yellow:eek: . Migraine or not, we took the paint back and it had been wrongly labelled or something so we exchanged it for something else, cream! it was nicer anyway. Poor husband had to start all over again. We would have made more of a fuss about it, but with the migraine, I just wanted to get back home.
We are never shy of complaining about anything, politely of course.0 -
When OH gets back I'm going to let him look at it as even when stirred the paint keeps separating ....maybe there is something wrong with it. Will have to try and find receipt. We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

just been on the dulux site to have a look at colours for my kitchen... i want a neutral background but nothing to bland..
im going to have lots of shabby chic bits n bobs around in blues, greens pinks and the occasional red thrown in
its not a big kitchen ... one wall will be taken up by cream cupboards and the other wall is mostly window so it just leaves two end walls really.. which one will have open shelves on that will house all the bits and the other wall has a mini dresser type shelf with a few bits on ( jug, dried flower thingy and some little bits) ..
so theres not a lot of wall that is going to be seen ..so i dont know why im getting myself so worked up about it really!!
but ive come across this colour and thought it might be nice
cornish clay its in the heritage range have a look and tell me what you think

i was thinking of having a fucia pink roman blind at the window aswell0 -
I will look out for you as well, I've really enjoyed the trip down memory lane with all the pyrex tales. Its great that people are still using them from years ago. If I had them now I would take better care of them I've still got me wooden salad bowl with servers, chicken brick and the china hen to keep me eggs in though. I love this thread and everyone on it so friendly and helpful.
Thank you too jinny, you are very kindIf anyone would like me to look out for anything in particular whilst I am doing the charity shop rounds please let me know & I will gladly keep an eye out too
ps. As long as it's not too big as I don't have transport LOL0 -

When I was a little girl I used to visit my 3 Great Aunties house.
On a Saturday afternoon, they would serve a lovely afternoon tea - cakes on cake stands, salad, sandwiches, pot of tea, etc.
My highlight of this was the crockery. They had a wonderful pastel set with a side plate, dinner plate, bowl, cup and saucer in each of the colours - pink, blue, green and yellow - they were white on the outside of the cups and bowls but the inside were coloured. They always ensured I got the pink set!
Oh how I loved that crockery. :A
I've been looking for years for something similar but the closest I have come are these on Ebay, but they aren't the colours I want as I want blue included, and they have dinner plates but not side plates.

Then today I found these:

I was so happy as it is just what I wanted. :j Okay it has mugs not cups but that is fine. The only problem is, they don't appear to do dinner plate size.I am so disappointed. Can anyone help please?
Thanks and sorry for the long post.
I think my granny had these too!
I remember she had one pink and one blue bowl, just as you describe, (perhaps the remnants of a set?) and it was always a thrill deciding which one to have your rice krispies in!
I loved them (and her) so much.M.A.C.A.W member number 39
