Mollymop5 - that cupboard is gorgeous. I hope you get it.
I got mine today too. I also got the wallpaper samples I ordered and I have to say I'm not that impressed with them actually. They looked better on screen and some of the colours look different to how they'd appeared on screen.
With regards to my patchwork wallpaper canvas - The creases/bubbles have nearly all gone. I have added some ribbon to it and I think it looks much better.
I also covered a shoebox with some of the wallpaper I bought.
kitso, how did you stick down the covering for the shoe box?? i may do this in the BH weekend)

Hi tudorfan,
The shoe box covering is wallpaper and I used diluted PVA glue to stick it down. I tend to always water down my PVA glue as you never need it as thick as it comes out of the bottle. When it is diluted I also find it easier to position things. The only trouble is I guess at the right consistency which means sometimes it can be too runny. The ribbon is stuck on with good old double sided sticky tape

Inspired by everyone on here, I started another project yesterday. My children had an old toy chest in their bedroom that I originally painted years ago to fit in with DS's bedroom decor at the time. It had become quite battered and wounded - definitely distressed (!) and dd had also decided to write on it with marker pen. Why???!!!I was fed up with the school bags just being dumped on the floor by the front door and needed somewhere to store them. I remembered the chest so decided to put it to good use and give it a makeover.

The fabric was an end of roll bargain, costing only £2.00. The paint colour is called "chocolate" and is B&Q's own Satin. I needed to do two coats. I think it cost about £5.40 for a small pot. The paint does actually look like melted chocolate as you apply it! The fabric was stuck on with spray adhesive - which is quite hard to work with as it gets everywhere (and is incredibly sticky)!:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j0 -
Kisto, you clever thing. That looks absolutely fantastic, and it really goes well with your wall canvas (lovely to see it in situ!).
Gosh, I'm going to have to speed up and produce something else - you've got me thinking on a few things to revamp around our house, and itching to do something. Still halfway thru the sewing box, though.
Love the shop, Lindens.
Just a thought this morning - was trying to fight my usual losing battle with cleaning my kitchen. Just a little thing, but do any of you decant your washing up liquid? The bottle just looks so ugly. Any good suggestions for a shabby chic approach?

kisto - what a transformation ! Just goes to show what can be done. Love the material -what a bargain.
Well, I was meant to be painting my little cupboard (was going to doing it the other week but other things cropped up) but I've got a retro sweet box to do for one of our ex foster lads and at the minute having problems getting the sticky stuff from the back of the price label off ! Then I just might get the paint out at last.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

How about decanting it into an empty handwash bottle ? Or standing it in a pot/vase ?Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0 -
Kisto that looks great! I shall investigate that paint as I have some boring veneer bookshelves that I'd like to match the very old dark wood wall cupboard and plate rack in the living room of my new place. Will look good I think with white or cream walls. Love your artwork too!... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
