Earlier on in this thread, Haribo Junkie posted a link to ebay relating to a Hoosier Cabinet.

My freecycle ones were like the ones you posted next after the plain ones - except mine have slightly more ornate legs. I felt guilty painting them as I looked up the make and found they were selling for quite a bit on ebay in their original condition. But I felt it would be even more bad to make a profit on a freecycle item than it would be to paint them, so I got my sandpaper out.....
A tip - if you are lucky enough to get a set of old ones, with turnd legs, then take your time painting them and do enough coats, rubbing them down between coats. Mine took about a week to do, with drying time and all, but it was really worthwhile on the end.0 -

hey all, only just started reading this, so not got through all the pages.
We've had an offer accepted on a house that is dying to be 'shabby chic-ed' since it has an open fire, yorkshire range and stripped floors. Hopefully it'll all go through, and in the mean time I'm becoming obsessed with collecting shabby chic/vintage pastel coloured stuff.
In Primark they have lovely duck egg blue with white poker dots linen baskets for a pound at the mo. Plus breakfast sets for £1 in lovely cardboard hat boxes, in pink and pale blue. If something inside is broken they reduce to 50p. I have lots for storage now.
hope that helps.0 -
Haribo - I'm in Devon, so this oneNot sure I could bring myself to paint this one though.
ATM my fridge/freezer is in a cupboard next to the kitchen as we're so limited for space. I'm thinking of putting it back in the kitchen then using that cupboard as a larder and putting some shelves. It's just wide enough for a fridge freezer which gives you some idea of space, would you prefer your FF tucked away or to have more shelves. Hmmmm toughie!!0
