Much as I'd like to try the f & b paint to paint my dresser, being on a tight budget I think I'll have to go for something not so expensive.

Can anyone recommend any paints that they have used - preferably water based and as quick drying as possible? Hope you can help!
I have used B+Q's own waterbased satin and it worked really well.
  • And this would be great in a utility room.

Not sure I could bring myself to paint this one though.
That Hoosier is gorgeous.I wish I had room for it but that base is really deep.
  • Hi Kisto folowing on from Vintage pleasure's idea of a large canvas, you could get some large stretcher frames from here and cover them with a piece of fabric, or a patchwork. I use great art all the time & the are good to deal with, quick delivery & really helpful.

The stretchers are really easy to use, clip them together & staple gun away....you could even change it when you get bored, + you still have a lovely piece of useable fabric which might even be faded shabby chic style!
    simplicity is key

  • For all you girlies into wallpaper at the mo take a look at Claires work it amazing...http://www.clairecolesdesign.co.uk/

You can do something similar on a large canvas. That way you can take it with you too.
Au Naturale sell them fairly cheaply.

Thanks VP! LOL! :rotfl:I was having a pm conversation yesterday with icandream and said that I would probably give it a go on a canvas!! :D I paint on canvas anyway so I always have a few spare....although I'll probably buy a bigger one as the spare one I have here is only about A3 size.

Edit: I so wish we had Au Naturale down here....although my bank balance is probably glad there isn't one local!
:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j

Ooh look what I found in the charity shop for ..... £3!!! It's a little sewing box - the top opens and then there's a little drawer at the bottom.

This picture was taken just before I began priming it. It's not finished yet, but will take another when I'm done!
