It's Edwardian and only cost £20.So squishy and comfy, perfect for my morning cuppa and MSE browse!
I need to make a little cushion out of some gorgeous vintage kitchen fabric I have.Just need to find the time.Maybe if I did a little less checking on this thread?!!!!
Ooh you jammy dodger! what a bargain hunter you are. That is a lovely shape, I do like to see a chair in the kitchen.
Now I trust you didn't buy that chair just to hide that loose skirting board!0 -
Also just bought this vintage sheffield cutlery, an essential in any shabby house. I would have preffered proper stainless, but I was a bit drunk and got carried away! Silver plated ones are also nice, but a !!!!!! to clean!:

Haribo - I'm in Devon, so this one is the closest to me. Is too big for my Kitchen (honestly, it's tiny, will have to take a pic!) but could go in the play/dining room...
ATM my fridge/freezer is in a cupboard next to the kitchen as we're so limited for space. I'm thinking of putting it back in the kitchen then using that cupboard as a larder and putting some shelves. It's just wide enough for a fridge freezer which gives you some idea of space, would you prefer your FF tucked away or to have more shelves. Hmmmm toughie!!
I'm a million miles from devon or in fact from anything decent that comes up on ebay so sadly someone else will get that one!!0 -

you lot have made me spend MORE money:rolleyes: well they went through my business;) i bought a small pine welsh dresser, and a pine narrow book shelf type thing.. from a local charity shop.... ok not the cheapest in the world, but hayho...i also asked if they would throw a dumb waiter they had in the shop for free ( its been there for yonks hidden in the corner under a load of clutter) so i have 2 of them now:D one for the kitchen and one for the bathroom..

We had one of those old type cast iron radiators in our conservatory, we bought it from a factory that was closing down, quite a few years ago, £60  so not really cheap, it is one of the few old type things that my husband DOES like. It weighed a ton! However, it only worked, intermittently. There was an old rusted washer or something like that ( I am not technical) and it would not come off so that a repair of some sort could be carried out, I am not sure what, so we gave up, put it in the garage and bought one in the same style but from B&Q:o . So that was not very moneysaving.

Has anyone else got Essentials Magazine April issue?
They have a piece on painting furniture white and covering boxes in fabric. They also have a peg board for tea towels made exactly the same way I did mine. I wonder if this thread is being "watched".
I love that chair VP.0 -
Look what I have just been and collected.

My DD tries to do her homework while kneeling at the coffee table so I have been looking for one of these for the past few days. This one will be sanded tomorrow and then painted and put in her room.
VP...that's where my cat gets too when she's on her travels eh? Yours is identical to mine.£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0 -
Hello everyone! Just catching up, and what lovely posts.
Furball: I love the cream cupboard. I would definitely have gone for that.
vivw - your dresser is beautiful. I wish we had room in our kitchen for something like this.
cbsexec - thanks for the Ideal Home tip: picked one up on the way home, after not buying sandwiches for lunch to justify the cost! :T Looking forward to snuggling down to read that later.
Bibbly - fab sewing box. Do post a pic when it's painted!
Vintagepleasure - what a lovely, cosy looking chair. I can't believe you managed to get that for £20. It looks great in your kitchen.
What a thread: feels just as though I've put on a fave pair of comfy slippers! Thanks all. x
