Sorry Haribo - I really didn't mean to suggest you were knocking it and apologies if it came across that way. I just feel slightly nervous about posting on flickr as it's a new thing for me!
And from what I've seen, you have a really good eye. I love your posts. x
No iceandream, My post didn't make it clear.Flickr is new to me too and it's weird to think people want to look at our pics isn't it? I love all the blogs too. It's amazing how seeing how someone else has done something gives you ideas for things you were perfectly happy with before.
I've officially run out of room though so it will only be small bits and bobs for me from now on. As summer approaches I tend to spend alot of time in the garden anyway so will be looking for ways of introducing some ideas to that.
I have an old pine church pew in the garden which I want to paint and use at the kitchen table. Problem is my MIL stripped it and restored it and she hates painted wood so I'd be in trouble if I did it. :rolleyes:0 -
Must stop reading this thread!! My house stylee is not shabby chic yet I was in a charity shop today and saw an old dark oak wardrobe and I stood there thinking...hmmmm...bit of sanding...bit of Farrow & Ball...bit of distressing....now where could I put it.......
Nooo, Nooo, Nooo...must walk away NOW!!!!!!! :rotfl:0 -

Very weird indeed. Personally I've struggled to get a style for my house: I always feel I'm making it up as I go along! It's hilarious re the stripping, really. I remember stripping furniture with my mum when I was a teenager, and both of us grumbling at the idea of someone painting all that lovely wood. How fashions change! Still, I now have a mix of painted and stripped wood, and they all work together so well. Your pine church pew will look fab painted, but your poor MIL :rotfl: . I've got one in my living room and they do look quite special.
Miro: you've just made me lol. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Just like me and the sewing box I got from the jumble sale!

And this little baby is the dining room I aspire to!!
I'm slowly working my way through this thread (only at Page 35!!) but had to comment on this picture. I LOVE it and if you look above the window it says LISSA that's my DD's name - I was just meant to have this room!!!Official DFW nerd - 282 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts'

You don't know my MIL. I'll take a pic and post it on here to see what you lot think.I don't really object to leaving it as wood as I too have a mixture and there are some things in my house which are just too lovely in their natural state to paint but the pew is pretty ordinary really.
