Sorry Haribo - I really didn't mean to suggest you were knocking it and apologies if it came across that way. I just feel slightly nervous about posting on flickr as it's a new thing for me!
And from what I've seen, you have a really good eye. I love your posts. x

No iceandream, My post didn't make it clear. ;) Flickr is new to me too and it's weird to think people want to look at our pics isn't it? I love all the blogs too. It's amazing how seeing how someone else has done something gives you ideas for things you were perfectly happy with before. :o I've officially run out of room though so it will only be small bits and bobs for me from now on. As summer approaches I tend to spend alot of time in the garden anyway so will be looking for ways of introducing some ideas to that.
I have an old pine church pew in the garden which I want to paint and use at the kitchen table. Problem is my MIL stripped it and restored it and she hates painted wood so I'd be in trouble if I did it.

Very weird indeed. Personally I've struggled to get a style for my house: I always feel I'm making it up as I go along! It's hilarious re the stripping, really. I remember stripping furniture with my mum when I was a teenager, and both of us grumbling at the idea of someone painting all that lovely wood. How fashions change! Still, I now have a mix of painted and stripped wood, and they all work together so well. Your pine church pew will look fab painted, but your poor MIL :rotfl: . I've got one in my living room and they do look quite special.

Miro: you've just made me lol. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Just like me and the sewing box I got from the jumble sale!

I'm slowly working my way through this thread (only at Page 35!!) but had to comment on this picture. I LOVE it and if you look above the window it says LISSA that's my DD's name - I was just meant to have this room!!!

  • Hi. i'm still waiting to pick my mirrors up that i won on ebay, the seller has still not got back to me with their address! i have been busy listing stuff on ebay to try and make back some of the money i keep spending on there :rotfl: . one of my naighbours was slinging out a wooden bed frame today and i asked if i could have it, she said yes, :j god knows why i asked for it i don't even need it  ,i'm going to paint it and then find a home for it. i'm also know on the look out for a pot cupboard for my lounge.

VP- that chair looks very comfy. did the cat just happen to be sitting there or did you put him/her there?
Bibbly- what a find that sewing box was.

You don't know my MIL. I'll take a pic and post it on here to see what you lot think. ;) I don't really object to leaving it as wood as I too have a mixture and there are some things in my house which are just too lovely in their natural state to paint but the pew is pretty ordinary really.
