Here's a question for you all....the desk I won yesterday is all sanded and primed....now when it's ready to paint what paint would you suggest as in base paint? It will be used leaned on constantly for my DD to do her homework so I want a good paint that won't start rubbing off with friction. Any suggestions?

I have just put a coat of paint on the egg rack that I primed at the weekend but I'm not sure I like the colour now. It looks a little too blue for my liking but I'll let it dry properly and decide then.
    £2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.
  • ooh (happy sound) just got my F&B colour chart and brochure. the paper on page 19, left hand side, i'm going to have to get that for my lounge.
Back on MSE again! to take control of my finances and not let it control me. :T May grocery challenge £41.96/140

Whatever paint you decide on for the desk you can coat it in a matt varnish to protect the surface.

    vintage pleasure,

    your chair is great!:T :T

Your kitchen shelves are exactly like the ones I wanted, when I had my kitchen put in 10 years ago. Hubby drillled first hole to put it up on new years eve and he drilled through the water pipe and we had to call a plumber:mad: I have never again asked him to put anymore shelves up since then, don't think he can be trusted:eek: Where did you get yours from?? I want some now:j

I linked to that a couple of days ago and said if I had room for it I would bid on it myself. I suppose I'd pay up to £50 for it as it's in good condition but it's a personal choice.

Hi Haribo, thanks for the advice.I get carried away sometimes when bidding lol.I love it and have room for it :) having it delivered to me would be £35 too so I need to take that into account. Can't stop looking at it though lol.

The shelves are actually from IKEA.They are the oak veneered ones not the solid wood but you really can't tell.

I think worn patches would add to the charm. It would make it all the more shabby chic!

Mollymop5 - that cupboard is gorgeous. I hope you get it.

I got mine today too. I also got the wallpaper samples I ordered and I have to say I'm not that impressed with them actually. They looked better on screen and some of the colours look different to how they'd appeared on screen.

With regards to my patchwork wallpaper canvas - The creases/bubbles have nearly all gone. I have added some ribbon to it and I think it looks much better.

I also covered a shoebox with some of the wallpaper I bought.
