Mind you, it did mean a 45 mile round trip and lunch out, but worth it :D I think. It is now sitting in my F&B queue while I decide which colour to paint it and what fabric to re-cover the seat!

OOOh what a lovely bench surely can't wait to see it painted maybe one of the new colours....can't wait to see them in the flesh. Have you got some delicious fabric in mind???

just scrolling through ebay and found this....what a cracker and still at 99p just imagine that shabby chic'd up i think it is in the merseyside area... if that was near me i would deff had placed a bid on that...

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Gorgeous-Vintage-60s-70s-Ercol-Golden-Dawn-Armchair_W0QQitemZ300203838102QQihZ020QQcategoryZ115763QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Wow, that is one great chair. That Ercol stuff was VERY pricey to buy. It is well made and has a lovely finish.

Cooltrikerchick, at the moment my kitchen is beyond clean, it is perfect. This is because the house is for sale and at any moment someone might want to come and see it. There are only two of us and when we are living a real life - lol - the kitchen isn't too bad, but not the way it is now. When there were four of us the kitchen was mostly messy - usually clean - but definitely messy!

Hello every-one. I went to a carboot sale today and managed to find some staffordshire pottery for a couple of quid.2320611003_ce0636173e_s.jpg

I also went into TKMAX and found a cream enamel rice tin reduced for $3 2320607971_91620cd9ef_m.jpg

(sorry my pound symbol doesnt exist).
so all in all I was pleased. I realise now that i should have tidied my kitchen before i started this shabby[strike]cheap[/strike]chic/oldy worldy/retro/mishmmash adventure. I dont dare post my `before decluttering` pics of my kitchen yet .....I am too emabarrassed. I am very inspired by COOLTRIKERCHICK`S kitchen makeover, That makes me want to paint every cupboard white. My kitchen is dreary and quite dark so i definitely need to see what i can do to brighten it up.Our housing association say they are changing our kitchen in two years but i cant wait that long and have about 2.50 quid spare to redo it!:p so cheap and cheerful wins again. Thanks to all those posts that inspire me not to give up.This thread shows it doesnt matter if you rent or own and if you dont have lots of money. There are lots of things that can be done to improve our homes if we want to.

Also going to read up on how to repaint my old pine dresser. Hope to put up before and after pics if i get that done this week. TTFN.:D

Oooooh 4 hours left of Ebay watching, I am getting twitchy already lol!!!

I have even set up auction sniper for the first time that is how badly I WANT IT!!!

Bit concerned though that it will not work as it is the first time I have used it and on something that I want so badly so going to bid myself too nearer the time lol (will that work???)

Put a wanted ad out on Freecycle Thursday and now this little gem is sitting waiting to be painted tomorrow.....now what colour???? that's the tricky question. Off to drop hubby at the train station as he flies out to Germany tomorrow so I'll have 3 days to get painting.
Hopefully my little F&B shop will have some of the new colours in otherwise it might be the leftover 'pigeon' from painting the dresser...but I'll post some pics on my blog when finished. Have a good Sunday eve you shabby chicer's xx

We are really lucky that we have a big house with lots of corridors just perfect for bits of furniture!!

We rent from an estate and have a lifetime lease as we could never afford a house this size in a Dales Village, a house 1/2 size of ours is on the market for £610,000 its quite obscene really & thank goodness that there are responsible social landlords like ours otherwise there would be no children playing around the place making dens....there aren't many families that could afford those house prices!!

Can any of you Shaby Chic-ers think of an alternative use for a bread bin, other than to store bread? It is the horizontal flip-front kind. I bought it because I thought it was really nice, but when I got home I realised I would rather keep my cceramic bread crock.
