Glad to see that kenwood chef sitting proudly on the work top....a must in a shabby chic kitchen....none of this american kitchen aid nonsense:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

(I apologise to all you kitchen aid owners before I get shouted at hehe...)

Sootypea, I adore those candlesticks, I've never seen any to buy.

    I'm jealous :p

Haribo Junkie, I see you are going to make a patchwork quilt. I love patchwork, the problem is with a large quilt, that it can be difficult to manage all the layers as you put them together.

A possible answer is to 'quilt as you go'. If you google those words the instructions and pros and cons will come up. There are too many sites to list, but they are easy to find.

Definatly! The kitchen makeover colours have been chosen to incorporate the kenwood - used too much to have in a cupboard!

HJ Yes I think that is the same book as I have :) There are some pretty good projects in there.

Ebaybaby - Thank you :) I have had a look several times toobut to no avail!

The storm is now starting to come into Torbay by the looks of it, the first lot was not bad overnight though but the highest recorded wind in UK was Berry Head which is about 8 miles from us. Rain has just started as it was beautiful and sunny a minute ago and wind is getting stronger.

glad you won it.. that chair is a bargin and has sooo much scope to have you can re-vamp it.... the same seller has a 1950's coffe table with a copper style top and a pld g plan paper rack, which could be really shabby chic'd

i think over the next week or so i will be trolling ebay with a toothcomb,

I have a spice rack here http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/7783653 which is very flat and uninspiring, can anyone think of what I can do to it?
I thought of painting a blackboard panel in the middle of each door??
I also though I could put painted writing on in french style lettering, can you buy transfers for that does anyone know?

    Hope that link works.
    Any ideas??

It is a great day for a bit of Shabby Chic-ing, too windy & wet to go out!

I am starting sanding the bedroom chairs (hope OH remembers to pick up more F&B) and then I am going to have a go at making a few of these. Laura Ashley want £6 a pair, but I can make them at home ...(but not out of an aubergine!)

Can any of you Shaby Chic-ers think of an alternative use for a bread bin, other than to store bread? It is the horizontal flip-front kind. I bought it because I thought it was really nice, but when I got home I realised I would rather keep my cceramic bread crock.

You could keep kitchen paperwork in it - instruction manuals, bills, receipts which might be needed in case of problems etc
