We are really lucky that we have a big house with lots of corridors just perfect for bits of furniture!!

We rent from an estate and have a lifetime lease as we could never afford a house this size in a Dales Village, a house 1/2 size of ours is on the market for £610,000 its quite obscene really & thank goodness that there are responsible social landlords like ours otherwise there would be no children playing around the place making dens....there aren't many families that could afford those house prices!!

Sounds lovely. I agree about the house prices, out of this world.

Oooooh 4 hours left of Ebay watching, I am getting twitchy already lol!!!

I have even set up auction sniper for the first time that is how badly I WANT IT!!!

Bit concerned though that it will not work as it is the first time I have used it and on something that I want so badly so going to bid myself too nearer the time lol (will that work???)

Not sure, might you be bidding against yourself?

Never mind eh, that's 56.40 still in my pocket, I will keep scouring the junk shops for one instead.

I've just been catching up with the thread, and thanks to all of you who have been posting pics: it's so great to see all the finds and stuff you are all doing. :j
CTC: I think your kitchen just looks fab. What a transformation. Love it! And thanks for sharing. And I wish I was close enough to bid on that chair.
We were lucky this morning, as managed to get a pine cabin bed for my ds on freecycle. He's thrilled as he's wanted one for the past couple of years. Wondering after looking thru this thread about painting it (he likes blue!). Has anybody painted a cabin bed/shabbied up their kiddie's rooms? (Ha ha - not that mine need much shabbying up!).

COOLTRIKERCHICK - just wanted to say your kitchen looks great - well done :T :T :T

My cupboards are exactly the same as yours (before pics) and I have felt a little worried about painting them incase it goes horribly wrong! one expensive mistake that would be !! But your 'after' photos have gave me some courage.. you have done a great job!

    Thank you!!

Just had a look at how many views this thread has had and I have to say the 60,826 that we have had means that this is the most viewed thread at present :)

So nice that so many share the same wants out of a home :)

I am looking forward to tomorrow as the huge storm that is now top of the news will be keeping me in and stop me from spending when I have things to do at home!!

I think I may embark upon some sewing tomorrow, I was going to do some little fabric hearts to dot around the house which are quick and simple, they are in the Country Craft book that I managed to pick up from the charity shop last week for £1.50.

I have lots of little fabric scraps to use up and plenty of filling material so it should not be a problem!
