I have been reading your posts regarding your new house and have decided that I am going to move in with you when you get moved in.
Hope you don't mind too much, but it just sounds too nice for you to keep it to yourself and not share it with me0 -
I managed to get hold of this in our local charity shop today!!! :j It's not actually for me but for Pink-winged who's been looking for one for ages and it was only £15.:D0

boysmum3 - I got one of those portiere rods for my front door from my Littlewoods catalogue. I works a treat but the only problem is that it won't pull right over the gaps around the door. I'd really have been better off having one long pole across the front room windows and door so I could pull the door curtain right over. But at least I don't have to keep pulling the curtain open before I open the door.Mary

ebaybaby I love that altered box :T
I'm pinching your ideaI use a wooden tea trolley for my 'budgeting workstation'; at the moment I have a cardboard box on the bottom shelf to hold my budget book, lever arch files etc upright. It would be much easier to get the files in and out with a lowered front as you have done, and I'll cover with fabric - will improve the appearance no end! Thanks for the inspiration :T
... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Triage I want to see your finds can you post your blogs link and everybody else when they have updates please, I love looking at them.
Some great stuff in this thread - thanks all.
Should be okay with my blog , as I don't sell or have a shop. I have quite a few links to other blogs and will add more tonight if I get the time.We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0 -
Haribo, that sewing machine is beautiful!
I have a similar one, only it is in a wooden arched case that locks into the base of the machine. My grandmother bought it in 1936 and the reciept for it is still in the little attachments box. It's a lovely little reminder of her.
Are you going to use it, or is it just to smile at? They are lovely to use. The sound is all mechanical and very 'chuggy', it makes you feel much closer to the item you are working with (if that makes sense!).
*edit - note to self, read the post fully before replying! In my defence, I was all excited about the beautiful sewing machine and just wanted to tell you how wonderful it was, so I skimmed through your post and went back to read it fully after I had posted!0 -
Love the old sewing machine...............I've got an old one that is totally defunct sitting on a wide shelf that goes along the top of our lounge. It sits among a load of grandads old wine jars and a few big jugs.
And there's another old one in the cupboard under the stairs........it worked but something went wrong with it and now I would find it hard to lift out of the cupboard to use, thats without the problem of seeing to thread the needle.........always was a big problem for me.
Think I'll have to freecycle it along with the Jones machine I had when I was 21 - that needs looking at too but would work if someone knew what they were at.Mary

I already have a table one HERE which works but this one is a prezzie for my sister. It works beautifully and looks rather lovely in my house but I can't keep it now.
Edit... I didn't read your edit.0
