CTC your kitchen looks really smart now :T :T
It is amazing what you can achieve on a small budget, and it is looking shabby chic too with a twist of vintage with the tea towels over the appliances
I spent all my pennies on a meal out tonight with my family and DD1 friends but we do it so very rarely that it was a nice treat!
So now going to have to wait until payday to be able to do a few more projects0 -
CTC your kitchen looks lovely and bright - beautiful!!
A lick of paint makes a load of difference doesnt it - everything seems so much brighter!
I have been out today with my sister and there was so much stuff i could have bought but didnt - wasnt too impressed with any of the charity shops but i picked up some gorgeous photoframes in tkmax, a beautiful birdcage type lampshade (will take a pic once its up if it doesnt pull the ceiling down as its so heavy!) and a fab tiffany style bedside reading lamp. They had the le crueset items in the sale and i almost caved in and bought some but i REALLY dont need anymore kitchenware!!Win £2012 in 2012 challenge 0/2012

Great idea, Haribo.
When I move, I'm setting up a quiet corner where I can sit and read and enjoy a cuppa. I have several (as in 4 - don't ask  ) 'vintage' wooden tea trolleys so was thinking I might paint one of those and put some pretty oil cloth on the tray parts. I could wheel that in and out of the kitchen with my tea and crumpets all laid out nicely.... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

I am watching a wicked item on Ebay at the moment that finishes tomorrow, am not giving too much away as I do not want to tempt fate :rotfl: :rotfl:
Will tell you all if I am successful, I have been after one at a reasonable price for years!!
Anyway, off to batten down the hatches because if you have read Metcheck you will see that us Devoners are in for a rough couple of days with storm force gales that are expected to cause serious damage and risk to life
Should I sell my greenhouse quickly???????0 -
Feeling very inspired by the thread and itching to get going on a project! We have 2 ikea cupboards in pine that are looking a bit the worse for wear and I would like to paint them having seen what great results lots of you have got. It has got kind of inner panels, a couple of which have been broken, any ideas on what I could replace them with? I thought maybe fabric, but OH reckons it will accumulate dust (true!). Other things I thought of are maybe some sort of mdf panel like you get from Jali, but this looks a bit expensive. Anyone got any ideas please?
PS CTC your kitchen looks amazing - well done!AMAZON SELLERS CLUB MEMBER 0082 :hello:0 -
I am struggling to get hold of a wicker shopping basket.
Ideally I want a large one with a flat bottom, which is nice and sturdy, but no "real" shops seem to sell them and any on line ones seem to be very expensive.£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0 -

I've bought a couple of nice ones from ebay over the last year and definitely not expensive - def worth a look there.

Thank you Vivaladiva & Haribo, I could not remember the maker's name of the measuring cone. :j I want one now!
I was in Dunelm yesterday and as I bought beautiful pink rosy fabric (a Sanderson linen lookalike)to cover our chairs + ottoman once I have F&B'd the frames AND bought new cream curtains I am not sure OH will eant to go near the place for a while.
Shall have to 'persuade' my mother to take me!
I bought ready made curtains (OK, they are unlined) because it was actually cheaper to do so - now I can save my energy for all that sanding and painting!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -

I find all my wicker baskets in junk/antique shops rather than charity shops, they don't seem to come up too often. I usually set myself a budget of £8 but I will pay £10 if its a special one.simplicity is key0
