We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

  • Promise this is my last ever post on F&B!!!!!! but after all the worry about grease & sticky fingers thought I would just add in this quote from the website

    "Modern emulsion"
When usage demands complete washability and stain resistance, water based Modern Emulsion is the perfect alternative to Estate® Emulsion. With a slightly increased sheen level, this wall and ceiling paint is ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and areas of high usage. Modern Emulsion is amongst the most environmentally friendly paints available.
    • Available in all colours.
    • Preparation use Water Primer & Undercoat or Stabilising Primer.
    • Environmentally friendly with low VOCs.
    • 10% sheen level.
    • Completely washable.
I promise I will NEVER mention them again.......

Plus I have other things on my mind now.....just found out I am pregnant so time for a shabby/vintage chic baby!

  • Congratulations rachelleblondel on your wonderful news! I can see new avenues opening up on this thread with ideas for shabby chic babies.... can't wait. On second thoughts maybe there should be a new thread for shabby chic/vintage babies.... I bet that it would be as popular at this one.

Tee hee: there's already been a run on cream microwaves at John Lewis, sadly for me... lol!

I would love one of those, but while mine is still working I could not bear to get rid of it, even though it was only a cheapy. I have only just decided to get new iron, even though mine has been falling apart for ages due to me dropping it on the floor. That is the moneysaver in me I suppose;)

Perhaps this thread is causing the shabby chic equivalent of the "Delia" effect.

been having a nose on that kath kidson website...... flipping heck is it me being a right tightwad or things very expensive???

if people are looking for small bits of floral material.... why dont you go to carboot sales jumbles sales ( if you are lucky enough to have them near you these days ) charity shops etc... and pick up some kids clothes... you normally find young girls clothes can be very floral, and pretty... you could cut them up

going by what textiles/clothes i get in at work.... there are loads thrown/given away and all in excellent condition... ok might be a pitty to cut them up, but at least they are being re-used in some way..

will keep a closer eye on the rag bags coming in... and see what i can find... to maybe do some patchworking ( if i get the time ..lol....) to save time might just do the patchwork straight over another old cushion cover to save some of the work...;)

Just use them for ideas and then find cheaper alternatives;)
